I hear ya.  Starbucks Reserve is $7 per cup.  No f'n way.
Never cared for their regular overpriced coffee.

This Colona joint isn't chic, or modern. It's more seasoned, an antique store ambiance. lol

Had fun passing out candy and taking the kids trick or treating! Hope everyone had a fun safe night. Luckily no scary clown sightings :-)

  • Took this on the way home this afternoon. 200 acres in the middle of our small community burning. Fire breaks at 300 acres and 50% controlled. Small scale for you guys out west. Big deal here. Luckily, only one house in danger. Very steep terrain. Places the Rangers can't even get close to. Last measurable rainfall, Sept 18

  • @bgebrent appreciate it. Other than some traffic because of equipment and a smoky sky, I'm not affected. Just wish it would rain. As long as it doesn't get really windy, they have it contained.

Just ordered a Ken Onion Work Sharp and a 22" paella pan on Amazon. Getting ready for Thanksgiving.

    Made my ramekin set today.

Also found some cool Pyrex, 1962, Early American pattern.  The first pattern Pyrex used 22K gold.  Set was 15 bucks, doesn't even look used.

I just used the shop vac to vacuum up water from my hot water heater going bad on me.  Unfinished basement, no damage except the future damage to my wallet.

Was thinking of replacing this 80 gallon hot tub with a tankless, but the more I think about it, I will just put in a 50 gallon. I do not want to have to pay to run all the piping, a new exhaust and all that other stuff which would be required since right now it is an electric one. The gas line is right by it, but still.

    What a P.I.T.A......

Just had a big scare. First, I ALWAYS double check that my grills are closed up and off after cooking. Well not always apparently, as two nights ago we did Japanese on the black stone. Tonight I go out to take out the trash, and find one of the burners still on, on low. I swear I checked it too, but damn. Not telling the wife either. Damn...

Glad to hear both of you came out unscathed @Sea2Ski and @Jeremiah .

My problem tonight is organizing all the music on my computer and external drive.  Was in iTunes, now I'm uploading everything to the Google Play cloud and getting everything organized.  :s

@Sea2Ski my house is 11 years old. Last summer I noticed my gas water heater (in the garage) was leaking. I looked under it and it was rust out. Damn. I thought. But had other pertinent issues. The next day I went to lowes and bought another. Had a neighbor help me change it out. While we were pulling the old one out he turned white as a sheet, as I spun it around, we saw the seam was bulging out, and was about to explode, the pressure valve had stuck and the tank had literally become a damn ticking time bomb.
