It would be better if it had a forward reverse foot pedal instead of having to force it in and out of gear, but yeah it’s fun to plow with the bota. I saw there is a shift kit available I might look into that.

    Celebrating!
I know its junk food, but this makes me happy; my attempts at reverse-engineering them have all failed.

    The Enchirito is returning!

I miss the 7-layer burrito and black olives on the mexican pizza.  The enchirito is pretty good too.

Sales start in 17 hours.  happy

Odd timing, I had just tried another few version myself in the last few days:

The ground beef/onion is no problem, beans are beans, and I'm pretty close on the sauce. Mild cheddar melts much better than Sharp, so its gotta be Mild.
It's the tortillas that are stumping me. The original Enchirito used corn tortillas; their "reboot" a long time ago substituted flour tortillas (and nixed the black olives) and they kinda sucked, so I've been going for the original. Steaming the corn tortillas didn't work, nor did using them straight out of the package. Today I fried them for about 20 seconds in oil; that was the most edible but the "burrito" half of the dish goes out the window then, they're enchiladas at that point (NTTAWWT). I'm pretty certain the corn tortillas in the original were NOT fried; possibly made fresh?
And the sauce had a very unique flavor in it, that I can distinctly remember but still can't identify/replicate. Taco Bell's original hot sauce, refried beans (and again, beans R beans) and even their crispy shells are available on amazoid, but not their red sauce.

I'm trying not to get too excited about tomorrow, no doubt the Taco Bell bean counters (har!) have found myriad ways to make it cheaper/easier. Sigh.

  •  Troubleshooting my BlueStar oven... I called and "sir due to liability reasons I can't help you troubleshoot your BlueStar, but I can find you a service center and discount the parts, because it is just out of warranty"  click.
I think it is the igniter, it is pulling 2.8 amps and the range is 3.3-3.6 and over 160 ohms, guy on youtube says it should be under 100

if you can hear or sense the gas , then yes .....typically HSI when bad and ohmed show open

  • No gas, I don't think it is drawing enough amps to open the gas valve

  • topside works.  The igniter for the oven glows orange but the valve won't open to allow gas to the burner.

  • BTW the Sujuk smells good, its at 75 degrees and 86% humidity currently.

Agree, and I knew that pre purchase as it was a consideration. Apparently if the electric igniter does not pull enough amps then the gas valve won't open. At least that's my hope lol

disconnect HST plug, check for power, if =yes then HSI is bad, if =no then board 9/10 it is the ignitor 1/10 board ( disclaimer at least the HSI's we deal with are that way, Blue Star may be different )
