We have that in common sir, I’ve even been to a tamale festival. 30 tamales for the freezer. Tried lard in place of Crisco this time, what a difference.

I usually have bacon-n-eggs for breakfast, and always pour the bacon grease into a 28-oz tomato can under the stove, use it in place of lard.  It's not entirely authentic for mexican cooking, but I make the tastiest huevos rancheros and birria in the state.

I’m glad someone did!  Last time I checked, it had lost almost half its value since the time imaginary house dude told everyone he was loving it.

Fartin around at the shop. Ordered a sink for the kitchen.  Fried up a snack.  Temps went from a high of 83F yesterday to a freeze watch tonight.  This planet used to be a much more friendlier place.

The Manning brothers NFL broadcast will be on ESPN2 tonight. Here's the guest list:
    "Manningcast’s huge NFL guest list
In a star-studded guest list for the Monday night show, the Manning brothers will be joined by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in the second quarter of the Pittsburgh Steelers matchup with the Cleveland Browns. The Manningcast has come to be known as a looser and more free environment for guests to relax in, but it’s unclear if the Mannings will be up for taking shots at the commissioner of the league.

Fans tuning in will certainly be excited to see what they can get out of Goodell during the show.

Their first guest of the evening will be Hall of Fame NFL coach Bill Cowher, who coached the Steelers from 1992 to 2006. In 15 seasons as the head man for the Steelers, Cowher won eight division titles and made the playoffs ten times. Pittsburgh appeared in six AFC Championship games and made two Super Bowls during that stretch, including a win in Super Bowl XL in 2005.

After the halftime break, the brothers will be joined by musician and media star Snoop Dogg. A longtime sports fan, Snoop Dogg’s son was a highly recruited college football prospect who committed to play for UCLA. After his commitment and recruiting process was finished however, Cordell Broadus did not report for Fall training camp and decided to no longer play the sport of football.

Snoop Dogg himself has been active across multiple sports as a personality, serving as DJ for the 2017 NHL All-Star Game and providing highlight commentary for the recent 2020 Summer Olympics with NBC.

The Manning brothers’ final guest of the night will be the reigning NFL MVP, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers’ appearance will be a direct challenge to the rumored “Manning curse” for players appearing on the show. To begin the season, the first six NFL players on the show went on to lose their next game."

Must see show, independent of the Browns vs Steelers game.

Just finished the annual review/update of my draft obituary (been doing it for 20+ years).  Given my age and the wasted (yet another) year, it was quick.
Perhaps I'll get to do it again in 2023.

    Cussing Bitdefender right now.

I really like my new Macbook Pro, but I wasn't getting near the battery life I was expecting (I don't do any video editing or gaming).  Called up Mac's "Activity Monitor" and Bitdefender is sucking down the juice, which is odd as I hadn't put BD on this new computer (Apple's own antivirus/malware is enough, I've been convinced).  All I can come up with is, it somehow got added from my 9-year-old desktop iMac, which DID have Bitdefender, via iCloud.

I pulled the BD icon out of my "Applications" folder, put it in the trash, and emptied the trash.  Act Monitor still says its sucking juice, and the BD icon on the menu bar says "Product has Expired" (I do remember getting the renewal email for my iMac, which I discarded).  I tried dumping the BD app icon on my iMac into the trash, but when I tried to empty the trash got a warning "You do not have authority to eliminate some items in your trash".  Gah.

After about six hours of futzing I threw in the towel, got online to make an appointment with Geek Squad at my local Bestbuy, but my local BB doesn't show up as a choice; closest one is South Salt Lake (about 45 miles!)  Double-Gah!

Think I'll hit the woodshop and hand-cut some dovetails or something.   :s

  • Just sent another edit request google thanks to the dentist office in Ohio that accidentally has my cell listed as it’s number thanks to a random person assigning it on google maps.  Anywhere from 2-10 calls a day when they are open. Been politely giving folks the correct number if I can answer.  Google rejected the last set of “recommended” edits because it couldn’t verify the information was correct. Guessing the check must be automated and similar quality to other fact checking services. Dentist office is aware and has been trying to claim the business and change it on their end.

Open up a terminal window.  If you know the name of a process that's related to bit defender or whatever you suspect (look at the processes in activity monitor), get the pid from

    ps -ef | grep offensiveprogramname

then kill it using the PID number of that process

    kill -9 pid#

you might have to sudo as root

Reminds me of my wife who was grouped into a legit text thread with a bunch of soil scientists. She let it ride for a solid week before slowly adding in input. Which was hilarious. They eventually caught on but she enjoyed it while it lasted.

Sounds exactly like something a person looking for the perfect cover would say. Nice try, buddy. Nice try. 😉

I know a male model-turned-real estate agent who has had his photos used on billboards for male hookups in Mexico. When we searched for moving companies online a few years back, he was incidentally in some of the stock website photos.

Growing up, a friend of mine had a telephone number one number off from one of the city’s highest volume pizza shops. Guy would get dozens of calls a week - mostly on weekends.

Thanks Carey; I did find a Ewetube video that also described a similar process in Terminal (I don't think I'm the first one with this problem); but using code like that, with my typing skills and the fact I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, plops me into the "screw up more than I fix up" category.  A lot of the above I can't even decipher (you might have to sudo as root?)

EDIT:  Oh, and I also saw a Ewetube video that had similar instructions, with the lady saying at the end, "If you still have difficulty, click this link and I will personally take control of your computer and fix the issue for you!  Good Luck!"

She had a very strong russian accent; even this dull tool could smell what the Vlad was cooking...
