What the hell is wrong with some people?
Some folks have a perforated colon and/or anal fissures.

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

    Status- Standing by.

    That is an excellent question.
There’s a guy just upstream who shared that he’s lost his sense of taste and smell for more than a year, and here you are mocking that like it’s no big deal.  Maybe try growing a soul.
    Grow a soul???
I thought you were an atheist?
    This is so confusing.

What's odd is I can taste if things are salty, sweet, tart, etc. but can't taste flavors.

Any thoughts as to how I can jumpstart my smell and taste again?
The tongue can detect sweet, salty, sour and bitter; but the nuances all come from the nose (aromas).  Sounds like you've lost your sense of smell, but NOT your sense of taste; wonder if that's true for all folks who've been affected this way.

Regarding jumpstarting, I've seen a couple of articles on the web on exercises to retrain your sense of smell, and someone else above mentioned.  Good Luck!

And @EGGjlmh :  just go away.  Please?  Did you have access to the PigPeenut account for awhile?

Oh no! The sky is falling again!

Sorry, I am kidding, lets just lock down the country again!😂😂😂
No big whoop 800,000 Americans died from Covid, huh?

BTW, lockdowns are done at the local level except for stuff controlled by the Feds like aviation.

ps - sorry about the ED, I’d be an angry person too…  =)

Spot on.  Raised RC right up through communion and the whole nine yards.  That lapsed and largely faded away until I met my wife, who is UCC.

  • I went to the doctor for a sinus infection I couldn’t whoop back in early 20’ the nurse checking me out asked me if I was having trouble smelling stuff (I was) because she had something similar recently and lost smell and taste.   This was before Covid allegedly had hit out shores, I remember seeing the local smokies meeting with the hospital staff in preparation. Coincidence? Maybe but in hind sight..

So this COVID mess is the weirdest thing I've ever experienced. I'm back to feeling fine with the exception of some minor sinus pressure and the fact that I can neither taste nor smell. EVERYTHING tastes like nothing. What's odd is I can taste if things are salty, sweet, tart, etc. but can't taste flavors. I poured Scorpion Tabasco on some tacos earlier and NADA. I'm pretty sure right now I could eat a ghost pepper and couldn't tell the difference in it and a grape. Any thoughts as to how I can jumpstart my smell and taste again? Citrus, Mint, and spicy food have done nothing. I even tried to smell vinegar and isopropyl alcohol earlier and zip....

brothers girlfriend lost taste after covid this summer. i made nachos with sliced scorpion peppers and she didnt notice it at all. her taste is just now starting to come back. stick with the cheap bourbon for a while and save up for a really great bottle when the time comes

That has to be one of the more mystifying aspects of the pandemic, that some folks who have literally seen people on their deathbeds begging for the vaccine are refusing to get it themselves.

Maybe a symptom of sars-cov-2 infection is cognitive dissonance.  That would explain a lot of what we're seeing here.  Or it could be from PFAS poisoning....Occam's razor is still telling me people are simply idiots.

I think we got exposed, waiting on my friend to get tested, he's sick as hell.  I felt like crap on Sat, but no cold symptoms, just malaise.

Is it a kind of general malaise, though?

Thx. Mild symptoms (vaxxed but not boosted yet). 4 hour wait at the walk in. GP office closed for the holidays. Buddy has an at home test she’s picking up on the way home. Hoping for the best

I smoked 4 blocks of cream cheese on Christmas Eve. My secret ingredient...... putty knife.

I'm not exactly sure how a putty knife made its way down under my Kick Ash Basket into my collection of ash. I did use one the other day when cleaning up my drip pan when smoking four blocks of cream cheese.

I only found it as my Kick Ash Can came in yesterday and I cleaned up the inside of the egg before installing it today. Who knows how long that would have been in there otherwise.

The only other tool I've found in the BGE was small pliers. I'm a little more convinced that came from a bag a lump. Fun times.
Do you suspect it came with the charcoal? If so, the putty knife could have been used to re-point (mortar) their bricks in their furnaces, and then left behind when they started the furnace up. I hope that thing didn't have a plastic handle...

I can't imagine not noticing a burning plastic handle unless you were doing a clean burn.  My money is on it hitching a ride from the collier.
