Had my buddy Chris and his kid and bff over last night visiting from LA.  Wild night, picked up a bunch of crabs my fishing buddy boiled in a suspicious cat-litter bucket left-under-the-stairs drive-by on a dark street.  Showed these guys how to eat blue crab.  Left them in the manbearcave and they continued to get hammered.  Sawed some dowel and used a spindle sander to make drum sticks.  Only one thing was broken, a primer pump for beer transfer.

Ended up cooking burgers on the banjo and fries in the bayou fryer.  On texas toast.

I did a wellness check on them this morning and they are alive and well heading to the coffee shop down the block for some grub and caffeine.

So my buddy Chris has his kid, who's 19, and his best friend in town, who's a Canadian stunt coordinator that does shows like "911" in town. I stopped by his house last night, then we all went to my shop, and ended up at my house much to Bridget's chagrin, and I fed them burgers and fries and plenty of alcohol. Anyway, the Canadian buddy was sauced enough to go into excruciating detail how he "moon landing" was a hoax and "he knows math and physics" because he is a pilot and we are all being gas-lighted by the government and all the scientists and Trump is the best thing since sliced bread, etc, ad nauseam. He said the flat earth people are "full of sh!t", so apparently there are varying degrees of crazy.

Going to be cutting it close. Trying to get the smoker back together for tomorrow. Front axle, firebox door, warming box door, dampers, and grates were all removed for paint. I power washed the grates from all the dirt that has collected on them from sitting outside this summer when prepping the smoker for paint. I ended up with rusty grates after a quick power wash. So I'm now knocking them down with a wire wheel.

Hoping to have a new looking smoker by tomorrow morning. Going to be a late night....

@DoubleEgger Kind of seems like it. My wife and I painted our house this summer. Plus all the trim ane sophits. We just finished up a few weeks ago. I wish I could say I had a bunch of extra time to work on the smoker but unfortunately the house took up the whole summer.

So I'm left scrambling with the smoker now. I've been picking away on it the last week or two. We are helping another family with a Thanksgiving meal. So I'm committed now or I'd just do our turkey and ham on the eggs. The extra meal is the push to get it done. It does help to have a deadline though....

Achiote adobo turkey is on.  Surprised the marinade stays on when it’s sideways!
This speaks to me.  Gonna be special.
