Anybody else’s kid have an Irish Tin Whistle to go with the tuba, clarinet, 2 guitars, French horn, keyboard and drum pad?

Do they ask for another a drum kit, guitar or violin for Christmas?   Asking for a friend.

    That's quite a variety!
My folks bought me a recorder in 2nd Grade, and god blessem for not driving me out to the gravel pit soon after...
My involvement in music has led to so many lifelong friends, a tour of Europe, sharing the stage with Miles Davis, Bruce Hornsby, BB King, and the country guy who did "Easy Lovin'" (okay, not necessarily on the same night); NYE shows at the HAFB Officer's Club, and two shows for the 2002 Winter Olympics!  Just keep riding your kid's ass to keep his grades up in science and math, as you can't make a decent living playing music, it just enriches your life!

(and a "professional" hint:  trade the tuba, clarinet, and french horn in for a decent saxophone, and "arrange" a tragic forklift accident to the Tin Whistle.  He'll thank you later, trust me)   ;)

@botch cool stories.  He’s a jack of all trades master of none at this point.  He’s in eighth grade and plays in the stands with the high school band and percussion in the pit at halftime.  This week a tuba was broken so they handed him a baritone and said, play this.  He’s just having fun as he is a nerd in the STEM and arts.

The brass instruments belong to the school and the the only sax available is a bari.

@yukonRon- I was hoping for a pic of those bad boys.  The texture and flavor are incredible.  Great cook and result.

Music is good for STEM subjects anyway, the science of music is pretty interesting. Coming from a family of musicians, you can make a decent living being a musician, it's just not easy. Both of my parents were professional musicians (retired now) and my sister is as well.  You can't beat having a natural interest / aptitude - if he practices without being prompted, you're half way there.

Man, I be totally mistaken, but didn't someone got kicked out of Dan Nichols Park for exposing their Irish Tin Whistle to minors at the last Butt Blast?????
