I had a PPE breach this morning while removing honey supers on a especially excited hive.

    Take a few bites?

They got me, it was well orchestrated, all over before I even knew what was happening.

I had to go back today to finish up, full suit, Velcro around ankles the whole bit... they seemed uninterested.

Everyone gets a apiguard treatment for varroa Monday so back in I go.

Also for any fellow beekeepers, I have been using two pieces of RW and traeger pellets in my smoker and it hasn’t gone out yet!

As I was putting together tonights salad, I am thinking I really really need a green house.  I could have fresh fruit and veggies all year long.

Where do you live, Bucky?  You have almost a solid wall of green there right now!

We are half way between Charlotte and Greensboro just off I85.   I am actually in a small town, but we have a unique eco system in our back yard.   We have seen many many animals following the creek looking for food.  So far a black bear is the bestest.  We still want to get a Mt. lion on the trail cam.  I'm convinced we have been visited by at least one.

@bucky925 be careful what you wish for!
Due to a recent growing spurt and a (mistaken) experiment involving planting a watermelon (aka triffid), I have a similar amount of greenery, just confined in a 14' x 8' greenhouse.

I just finished building the main structure and covered it in early June so my planting options were limited, also I have a drainage issue that needs to be addressed.

@sumoconnell.. I would hazard a guess a few great beers to accompany the cook. Enjoy your day.

At the Austin airport.  Waiting to fly back home after a long week of work (plus some fun) in Austin.   What a great city for food this place has become.   I could do without all of the scooters, however.

@JohnInCarolina - Totally right about the scooters.  My closest encounter was with one where the guy was sitting on the thing.  Visual recognition took longer than it should compounded by him the weaving in and out of traffic.  No, I didn't get close to hitting him but did tell him to stand so people could see the target.

Just cooked some chicken with an apple jerk rub. One and done with that rub. Smells like deer attractant too.

Was going to do cheekun this weekend and use up the buttermilk, then was going to do those amazing looking Asian meatballs, and then when I found new tomatoes at the farmer's market, ended up with gazpacho and grilled turkey anduillè sausage, and buttermilk biscuits (I love any kind of sausage with gazpacho).

In the ATL airport on a long layover, because my connecting flight has been delayed by two hours.  They really should’ve made the airport code for this place FAQ.

Planned to enjoy a quiet evening.  But now I am dealing with a family imposed high-drama event of little to no consequence.  F me.
