There was a time when I loved turning wrenches. (spent 17 years in the parts business) helped buddies build drag cars, street cars, engines, etc... Now I dread it

I went to push on the brakes on my Lumina aka "Junk Yard" the other night when needing a utility pump to fight flooding in my backyard. I got to the end of my neighborhood and the brake pedal went to the floor. Happy to have it happen where it did. We took my Dad's vehicle instead when he was over helping with the snow melting/rain. I started my truck the next morning and the battery was dead. Late to work. This was after my water heater quit working earlier in the morning. Nothing like an ice cold shower and a pot full of hot water from the stove for shampooing. This all on 3 hours of sleep between shoveling and vacuuming water away from my basement sliding door.

I get the thrill of ordering a new master cylinder online for Junk Yard and picking up a battery for the truck this afternoon. The joys of owning houses and vehicles...

That's one hell of a few days!
Fortunately the rain stayed away for a good part of the day. We were told initially that it was going to rain heavy throughout the day. Not a good sign when you see the next door neighbor have a Bobcat running around the yard dropping off skids of sandbags. We also removed the gutters from the back of the house late last fall when painting under them. We didn't get them back up. We can only blame ourselves for that. I woke my wife up the morning of and said we should probably think about moving stuff up from the basement. Fortunately we never got to that point. But we did have to move out a new glass sliding patio door and kitchen window from the shed at 12:30 in the morning as the shed was starting to flood. Along with the dirt bike and push mower. Rockwood bags were moved up out of the water. The last time the shed flooded it was up to my wife's knees. Getting the riding mower from the shed up to the garage in 15" of snow was interesting. Gave the mower hell until she'd about get stuck and go and shovel that area and try again. My wife and I actually found this entertaining. Both of us dead tired and drained but found us cheering each other on blasting through the snow with a riding lawnmower.

The water heater pilot somehow went out. Easy fix. I just didn't have time to diagnose the issue when it didn't start after a couple times hitting the igniter button.

The brake cylinder hopefully isn't too bad. The Lumina has to be one of the worst designed cars ever when it comes to working on them though.

Battery for the truck has been bought and replaced.

Could have been a much, much, worse weekend. Very much enjoying my feet kicked up for a few minutes.

Watching a blue bird start building a nest... Wireless camera in the box..
@johnmitchell. What kind. Of camera is in the birdhouse? Is it hardwired? Bluetooth or WiFi? That is pretty cool, and the picture looks really good.  You going to leave it there the entire season?

I got the recipe from this forum.  I only use 12 tomatoes and whatever peppers are in my garden.  The only other variation is I put a SMALL amount of sugar in it.  here are the ingredients:
    24 on vine tomatoes
    6 Anaheim green chiles
    4 pasilla chiles
    3 jalapenos
    1 vidalia onion
    6 garlic cloves
    1 red bell pepper
    1/2 c white vinegar
    4 tbsp salt
    2 tbsp black pepper
    1 bunch fresh cilantro chopped
Edit to add.  I skin and core the tomatoes and peppers.

Got these pre marinated jerk wings from our local sprouts farmers market. Most of their stuff is really good so threw 2lbs on the pK for dinner. Also watching MLP with my daughter while I watch the grill in my 0 gravity.

Have you baked any pizza in your summit? I’m wondering if having the air coming directly from underneath makes a difference as opposed to having the air come in from the front

I e done pizza in the Summitt but haven’t cooked enough in either grill to come to a conclusion.First look at both I think the Summitt is a much better pizza cooker but ive only tried charcoal at one end of the PK with a cross draft today and rotating the pizza. Gonna try charcoal on both sides with all 4. Ents open next time for pizza. Much larger learning curve with the PK than I am used to. Took a dome reading of 400 in my chicken wing cook tonight and a grate reading of 200 both with a thermapen. I’m off Monday gonna set up my igrill and check temps with different setups to see how it cooks.

Getting ready to head to work before a nice vacation. So ready for it. Long night last night. Someone attempted to rob a casino and then carjack a vehicle from the valet. Things did not end well for him after he shot one of us. Officer is ok, vest saved his life.

Excellent example of naive exuberance.  THE tournament starts next week.  The only one that matters.  I do however appreciate your exuberance in touching the rare air that Kentucky lives in.  Congratulations.  And I’m gonna want some shine at B.B.. =)
