I don't think I've ever seen a concrete power pole; it doesn't make sense to me...
I think the pole just holds the wires, and doesn't conduct the 'lectricity.  But what do I know?
I think he means that they are usually made of wood or even steel. Concrete does seem a poor choice of materials as they would require steel reinforcements to achieve any kind of strength in this application. I think.
They do and are much more structurally sound and can be manufactured with more height. They can handle a lot more weight( (wires are very heavy) and as Nola pointed out do not conduct electricity.
Still seems a bit odd to me though. I would be interested in seeing the structural plans. Must have lots of steel as to eliminate deflection and eventual  delamination of the concrete from the reinforcement. Long thin freestanding concrete structures are rare to see. I did see some while down in Florida. Caught my eye immediately. Interesting to say the least.
have done some work with bridge beams, my guess is its prestressed with cables, not rebar.  they stretch out the cables in a form, pour the concrete and let it green, then snip the cables. its alot stronger than a typical pour with rebar

actually pretty cool, the concrete is spun for uniformity, prestressed for strength, hollow for underground wiring

I was being (I thought obviously) sarcastic to botch, he's an engineer and of course I knew he knew the 'lectricity doesn't pass through the pole.

Concrete poles are pretty common.  Yes, they are pre-stressed.

Ironically , some concrete can if infused with carbon fiber. Apparently they use this process to make the structure a sensor that is capable of testing itself for cracks. lol, the things I learn on this forum.
