The real fun days are when I am doing yard work and have an egg or two fired up.  That empties out the shed beer fridge real quick.

Luckily, the shed beer fridge contains mostly Bud and/or Miller light, so I can go thru quite a few with minimal physical degradation.

Just changed 9 volt batteries (back up) in two smoke detectors. The notification always seems to go off in the middle of the night. Nothin like getting the ladder out and climbing when you were sleeping like a baby. Later! :o

Battery Voltage drops with temperature, so when it's borderline it will always trip first when cooler.

@Sea2Ski, was this tree felled in someone's yard, or in the woods?  Most sawyers won't touch a "domestic" tree, as there's probably nails, staples etc in it, ruining blades.
I am totally jealous, I would love to build a live edge table (I do have a small hall table built kinda to that esthetic) but my woodshop is too small to even pull in a plank that size.  Anxious to see what you come up with!
@Botch Kind of both. The tree was felled in his yard, but he was the first owner of the house from land they cleared for the development 10+ years ago. He knows they never put anything in it, so if there is something, it was from someone many years ago who did it when it was all woods and we would never know.
All I know this is a process which I have undertook that I did not know how complicated it can be. I do think, however, all this is going to be worth it once I have the wood dried and in a condition to work.  I also know you should not be anxious to see what I am going to come up with as I am sure it is not going to be anything more than something simple. Hopefully a few very pretty things, but still simple.

I took some cedar logs I cut down in a persons yard to the mill and they made amazing lumber out of it. I procrastinated for some reason but when we moved it was kinda like now or never.  Most mills have really good metal detectors.
Call your mill drag it up on the trailer and bring it in you will be glad you did!

Me and my girlfriend have decided to adopt a little puppy that came in hot by a car, pelvis is fractured but not horrible. Also had a bad ankle fracture.

Worked out perfectly as she wanted a new dog to keep her dachshund company in the new apartment...she'd been having a fit for a goldendoodle.....told her I'm not paying $$$ for a designer mutt, when I could get a field trial lab for the same price...I said there's plenty of stray dogs that need homes...well the man upstairs read my mind
So when this girl came in I jumped on it...said come look at your new dog  =)..luckily she liked too, so
My surgeon buddy fixed the hock for us and...

    everyone this is Annie

    Beautiful dog.

    Thanks @NC_Egghead thanks @Eoin.
She's been a trooper through the ordeal. She gets along fine with the little dachshund and shes been a great patient. She's about 5-6 months old, shouldnt get over 30 lbs. I think she's got a little feist in her based on size and confirmation...I hope she does, i need a new squirrel dog  ;)
