@JohnInCarolina Better to be lucky than good any day.  Congrats on the invite.  Interesting is likely the minimum it will be.

Yep.  I have a good friend and colleague at Technion. We've written several papers together.  He wasn't involved with this invite, but he was stricken with Parkinson's a few years ago and doesn't travel much these days.  I'm pretty sure I'll get a chance to see him while I'm there, so I'm looking forward to that.

Now to see if I can convince the wife to tag along...

I've been invited to be the opening lecturer for a scientific meeting in my field in Israel in October.  They're still deciding on the specific date and location, but it'll either be in Jerusalem or Haifa.  Should be interesting no matter what.
Isn't your field behind your barn?  How can you give a lecture in your field if you are in Israel?  Or do you own fields in Israel?

Just kidding around.  Congratulations on the invite.  I think Uber drivers are on camels.

That's awesome.  Congrats on the invitation.  I got invited to Chili's once.  It was wing night.

I think it is very cool you have this opportunity to speak with your peers, and visit with a good friend. It will be interesting, but it will also be enlightening.
Glad for you brother. Make an impact.

I found the training/practice much more effective using a car for the approach and initial positioning.  After getting the hang of the placement and maneuvering, cones became the approach "car" and the real car was placed behind the "parking space".  I used the local school parking lot as it had curbs as well.
Yes a few laws may have been liberally interpreted to get two cars there with only one licensed driver.

He could do that for the last year as long as I was with him. Now he'll be on his own.
