I followed Brent's lead and tried some Korean Meatballs.

I didn't have any apricot jam so I used orange marmalade (which I always have on hand for duck).  Used cherry as I didn't have any apple wood.  And jicama sticks because I didn't have any kimchee; they're not Korean at all but I thought jicama's clean, mild crunch would complement the spicy, fatty balls, they did.  Delicious, but something in these things has me burping back what I ate worse than anything since mackerel sushi, Oof-Dah!  
Next party I go to, I'll be making these 1/3rd the size, and throwing the glazed balls back on the grill so they're not quite so messy.  Great recipe, thanks @bgebrent !!
 
 
Totally Off-Topic:  does anyone know how to scroll up/down with a Wacom tablet?  I'm on a Mac, latest OS.  Thanks.

Just finished an amazing meal at Steak 48 in Houston. Was an amazing meal. Steaks were fantastic. Almost forgot the pic.

@kl8ton totally agree with @DoubleEgger. Surgery at my clinic would be in the $1500-2000 range. ERs are good, but expensive.

Doing laundry and renewing one of our vehicles registration/tag online for two years. Cost an extra $3.75 this way but no lines at DMV for two years. Think that is a bargain. Plate will be in the mail 5 to 7 days.

We did decide to put Duke down.  One of the hardest things to go through.  I am glad my son was there.  It was his dog.  We were with him while they put him to sleep.  

They informed us that our vet would be less expensive, but that he should be on IV and pain meds over night.  My bill at ER would have been just over $1800, then I would still be looking at surgery with no guarantees at the vet in the morning if they could have got him in.

Heartbreaking night/day for us.

He just turned one.
