Ok thanks

It's around -10 in Mn and my 18.5 lb bird is ready to go. Had a vertical stand for it - but it won't fit in my Large BGE so it's on its back. I dry-brined it last night - and seasoned it with Awesome Aussie's Sydney Seasonings. I added pecan chips as well. It's doing well so far! I'll post pics when it's finished.

After a good freeze has brought out their sweetness the oranges are ready to be used for Thanksgiving. Using for fresh cranberry with oranges and zest.
And our lemon trees' lemons are ready to be used too.

Grew up in S Fla and loved the oranges from our trees this time of year, especially after a cold .Milton, GA.

I was doing a happy dance once we tasted the first orange last night. The orange tree hadn't produced in two years and I had already said if it didn't put out this year it would become wood for the egg. >:) Guess it heard me.ksmyrl said:@NPHuskerFL now you're just bragging.

It finished a lot faster than I thought. Smells great - letting it rest for awhile.Right around 3 hrs.

Please don't let this happen to you. I promise my baby girl would destroy my bird if I gave her a nanosecond alone with it :o3

This one's done. Still have one in the oven. Time to make the gravy before all of the hungry people show up. This was 16 lbs and it took about 4 hours.Milton, GA.

18 lb cooked indirect, it only took 3.5 .
A lot quicker than I anticipated, but it looks and smells incredible! -

Greg, am I imagining or do I see coals under the grid, as in direct and no drip pan? I could've easily produced a disaster in that setup. Looks as though you did well!

Well my carving job ain't YouTube worthy, but we're off to grandmas house
-
Done! Just waiting for it to finish resting before carving.

@Cookinbob, yours looks better than what I did today. Mine didn't cook evenly so the legs were at 200, the bottom breast at 170 and the top of the breast 153 or so. I hope it is good. May try spatchcock next time. I am cooking a pecan pie in a CI skillet right now at 375. Should be done in an hour or so. I will post photos when it's done. Everything looks good on here.Cookinbob said:Here's my Turkey. I egged it yesterday
