That's it.  I'm quitting my job and going to work at Costco.

@Fred19Flintstone - I flagged something?  Listen man, it's a free country and you can buy **** wherever you want.   Yeah, I hate walmart because going there is both a nightmare and sad to me (having empathy and all that).  Stuff like the **** walton kids using charities to avoid taxes and not using them as real charities really pisses me off.  **** them.  I won't shop there.  And I don't buy stolen goods either.

This forum cracks me up sometimes. This thread started out with a great plate by @henapple‌ and has since gone in all directions. The funniest to me is the comments on return policies and staying in business. This site is full of scandalous members abusing return policies. It's not the store or the venders taking it in the shorts, thier loses are passed on to the consumer. It's not the company's fault if someone mishandled their goods.

I never take anything back.  Maybe a few times, like excess building materials.  If something breaks, I just buy another one.  Maybe that's not a good personal economic policy but I'll drag a product over the coals in reviews if it sucks.

I don't blame a guy for taking something back if it doesn't meet the expectations of what the said company markets. I'd be pissed if I bought a new car and the motor blew a week after I drove it off the lot. That said, if I changed the oil after three months and forgot to put the drain plug back in, it's not the manufacturers fault.

He he! I used to love are frequent flyers at Costco. Since I worked in Major Sales, I had to inspect most returns. We had one woman who would return cut flowers after 1 week because they died. Another dude bought a mower in the spring, returned it in the fall and bought a snowblower, then did vice versa the next spring. We'd let him get away with it for a few seasons then stopped it. Good times!

     The CEO's salary is 250k,
I don't know, I'm glad I work for a company where the CEO makes more than $250K/year.

@DMW‌ don't worry, Jim Senegal's stock options made that about 55 million. Current one too. It just helps to show that CEOs don't need to make 10s of millions per year to lead a successful company(32 on fortune 500, 100 billion in sales last year)

@DMW‌ me too. Our CEO made 8 mill last year and even though I'm jealous it gives me something to strive for. If my goal was to some day make $250k I'd rather stay where I am and work 35 hours a week at half of that.

@Eggcelsior OK, when you look at total comp package of a CEO, salary is typically a small part. And as it should be. Tie compensation to performance. For a few years our CEO took a $1 annual salary, the rest was tied to company performance and metrics. And for employee moral and shareholder acceptance, I think that was the right move.

Love ya brotha! But, we tripled cost out pocket and coverage is worse than before. So, I'm throwing the BS flag on this farce. People that had great plans that could once afford them now have crap and cannot afford even that. Flag on the play. Still love ya Nola.

@lit, see my last post. I was just trying to show the difference between an entry level position and the head of a company. Obviously, the CEO makes more based on total compensation. What I was trying to show is that phrases like "team member" and "associate" aren't just lip service like they are in most retail jobs. Perhaps I should have been clearer on that as well. I'm talking about the retail industry. Costco is the most admired retailer for a reason.

Sounds like a great CEO @DMW‌. You and I both know that isn't the case for a lot of CEO's. There's a bunch of them that are pisses of $#!+ and are way overpaid. Taking a company into the red and destroying jobs only to take a buyout is ridiculous. CEO's should only be compensated by performance. I wouldn't care if they made a $100 million a year if it was based off their performance.

Costco has made record profits for 4 or so years and had positive stock performance for 15-20 years in a row. The executives benefit from that through their stock options. For Costco, it's not about profits, it's about employee and member satisfaction. It may seem wrong, but this policy has been rewarded time and time again.

Costco's markup is very low, and their margins are worse than Walmart. They have the luxury of customers who pay a membership fee, which is almost unheard of.  I like a lot of their products, and I like that they treat their employees well,   But if other places have better prices, they'll get squeezed too.

Damn I'm glad someone came up with the punchline for that joke.  Awesome work @johnincarolina
