Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -

JohnInCarolina said:Headed to a place here in a couple of weeks that has the following lineup. The wife is treating me as I have a big birthday coming up, the old half century mark. Deferring to the local experts here - @lousubcap and @YukonRon and anyone else - for recommendations on what I should select - multiple suggestions accepted!
I ended up having a glass (neat) of both the Knob Creek 15 and the Elijah Craig single barrel. Both were very good, but I probably preferred the Knob Creek - just a different flavor profile than I'm used to with bourbon.
I had the blackened tuna to go with. Really nice meal."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike -

Never had any of the Barrell offerings. Saw my local Binny’s had some store picks so figured I would give it a go. This one is 113.04 proof. Made of 20% 5yr, 60% 7yr, 15% 10 yr, and 5% 17yr.Large and Small BGECentral, IL

@saluki2007 - I wish I had a local Binny's . That works out to just north of 7.5 yo. Enjoy!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Have been watching Ben Roethlisberger's podcast and they have been drinking Coors banquet. I realized that it has probably been 35 years since I had one, so figured why not. And I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is

@JohnInCarolina I’d like to hear your thoughts on it. It’s pricey and from Texas. The distillery is on the way to my buddy’s ranch. We stopped in there years ago right after they opened and neither of us really enjoyed it (for the $). Things change and they likely got better-I just haven’t bought any since our sampling years back.LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas
