I am anxiously awaiting a bottle of The Senator barrel pick that a colleague picked up for me. Needing something new.LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas

That 4 roses is a good bottle. Love the small batch select

Another old fashion. Taught my wife how to make them for herself. I’m gonna need more Sazerac

My buddy got a text last night from a local honey hole he has an in with and he sent me these pics this morning. Good grief!
He paid $450 for the entire haul. 😳

@pgprescott holy he.. that’s one heck of a score—especially for the little $ (well…for the find that is).LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas

I would put that bottle in my top 10 bourbons that I have tried @JohnInCarolina. Great stuff.Large and Small BGECentral, IL

Weller's any label has dialed in the wheat mix to have really crafted a great bourbon, now produced by Buffalo Trace. Should you get your hands on their 12 yo, you are talking exceptional brown water.
Enjoy that Special Reserve.
Keeping the bourbon comments to a single post-
Four Roses Small Batch Select is a great buy and even available here. Their marketing division hit a price point that is pushing the value but comes in under the wire.
I've got nothing regarding the PVW score other than to say the !5 yo was my favorite (can't touch it here now) back when those three were routinely available on the shelf (15 more limited). I scored a 20 yo once but never the 23.
A sleeper is the Bardstown Bourbon Series Fusion offerings. Try it should it be on the shelf, price point in the neighbourhood (nod) of the Four Roses SB Select and I find it to be more enjoyable.
Bourbon tastes are extremely personal so all above with a grain or two of salt.
But the journey is what makes it such fun. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
@JohnInCarolina
we had such good banter in another thread I decided to pour a drink. Not quite as nice as yours, this is a Doc Swinson barrel pic
Cheers

Boy did I screw up. Stopped at the duty free just prior to crossing in to the US this morning.They had Woodford DO for $40 US so I bought a bottle. As we were leaving SWMBO said I should've bought a couple and I declined because I already have another full one and an open one.Get home and realize it's a 1L bottle instead of a 750.750s here (when you can find them) go for around $65.D'oh.MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.
