Not enough after reading and assessing the way things have played out in Uvalde-So I was just planning on LEO with this until recent enlightenment here:

Dealing with the facts/truth is the best and only way to understand any event big or small. If the facts/truth identify shortcomings then taking action to fix those as that is the way to make things better.
As an organization or individual you are either getting better, standing still or regressing. Your call- and if you are good with standing still in the business world your competition is after you. They are shipping these days. If you’re close to NH then I bet you’re close enough for them to ship to you. The beer is as good as it gets."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike -
I agree that Burial is great. Wife drops me and brother in law on Patton Ave. and picks us up 6 hours later at Burial. Makes for a great day in my favorite town.Morristown TN, LBGE and Mini-Max.

Pacing after a bourbon blind tasting that concluded around an hour ago with my 34 yo son.
The Bardstown Bourbon Company Fusion 6 Series was the consensus winner and the McKenna 10 yo anchored the offerings.
As always it was an enjoyable event.
A nod to @JohnInCarolina as the Empire of Pain is in the background. A great read. Only around 1/2 through but an eye-opening story.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
I'll second the empire of pain book. Having been on Oxy for 13 years straight (all legal via pain management dr, and for the last six of those years at a massive 600mg's a day) and going through the brutal detox process, it was really, really hard for me to read how that all happened, the sacklers, the FDA, the doctors, the heavy marketing, the denial of it's addictive properties, all of it. I read it after I was off pain meds for almost a year. It bothered me so much that afterwards, I sat down and wrote a two page poem about it in maybe 10 minutes. Not one of my stupid silly poems either, this was about death, the sacklers, the FDA, the defamation of Richard Sackler, their data collection, the pill mills, the bankruptcy tactic, almost all of it is in there. It's the only serious poem I've ever written, simple in form maybe, but it's pretty angry and dark. I pull it out every now and then and re-read it, and it still bothers me.

Feel like I should quantify my previous comments about the opioid usage. In that same time period of 13 years that I was on Oxycontin, I also had 13+ major operations, so the pain meds were necessary at the time, and I followed all of my doctors orders, was very careful about following the prescriptions, and all applicable laws. I had (and still do) a team of various orthopedic surgeons at my disposal, as well as my rheumatologist, internists, primary care, pain management specialists, psychiatrist (I thought that was a good idea considering all the meds I took, and what I was going through in general) etc. In a sense, I fit the profile that the drug was originally intended for, I have two lifelong, painful conditions, that have no cure, and I would need long term pain management. ALL of my doctors knew how much I was taking and none of them seemed alarmed by it, the general sense being that it was medically necessary and that Oxy was less addictive than other pain medications.
I became increasingly concerned about the amount that I was taking over time and eventually made the personal decision to get off of it all together and then to reassess my baseline pain level. I didn't confer with my doctors, I just got fed up with it all, and found a place to detox up in Maine. It's hard to describe what the detox process was like. (I'd lose 37 pounds over the next six weeks) and how extremely difficult it was to go through. If anybody has read Keith Richards autobiography, there's a good description of how he detoxed from heroin in that book, and it's as horrible as he described it to be.
Still the best decision I made though. My biggest problem now is that I'm still in a lot of pain every single day, and the disease that ate both of my hip joints and both of my knee joints, is also in my ankles and elbows. I'll require more major surgery over time,, and the thought of going through that without pain medication, or taking it for operations and risking addiction again, is a haunting thought indeed. I wouldn't wish any of this on the worst person that I know.
Apologies for the long post, especially to those that have heard a lot of this from me already, but I felt like I needed to describe why I was on the Oxycontin, vs someone that used it to get high or escape, etc. I know some of you probably already think I have a screw (or two) loose, but there are no drugs involved (to be fair, I'm still on enough drugs to choke an elephant, but none of them have a psychoactive or addictive component).

I have family members that are struggling with pain and opioid addiction, not a fun place to be for sure.____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli
