double said:So... I had a chicken neck and one piece of bacon left over...I rubbed the neck and cooked it at 400 with some chicken broth. I had some shrimp handy for lunch today so it seemed that bacon wrapped chicken neck shrimp would be the natural evolution. All wrapped up... Direct at about 500 till bacon crisped shrimp was perfectly cooked for my taste. And on a plate.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

@mattman3969 that meal with all the Jamaican overtones is right up my alley. So wish I had some of that (actually all of it, including the punch!) well done!

I guess I'm throwing in my fricken chicken into the throw down. Used the new cast iron and loved it. Used the griddle to guard against flare ups.Started with some bacon...for the grease and for the toppings.Flattened the chicken breast then soaked in milk and an egg. Whole milk...Jake and I fought over the rest of the milk.Dip, dredge, dip, dredge...or in my case an old cat fisherman's trick. The ol' shake-n-bake.Thermapen the oil but really used the water drop method in the oil. Nice and slow like granny did.Pulled the frickin chicken and set it in that big heated box in the kitchen...kept the crust crispy. Poured out most of the grease...kept a little and the tidbits, added a little of the remaining "shake" and stirred up a rue. Added more than enough milk so i could slowly cook it down to the correct consistency. The wife made mashed taters and green beans. Before eating, my son asked where the bacon was from the bacon grease...what better thing to do than top frickin chicken with gracy and egged bacon. In a year of egging I've only had a few come off i'd give a big "hell yeah" to....this was one.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. It would have been fun for this to have had a better response from the board. I know it got me thinking outside the box- I hope there are more throw-down's in the future, but it will be more enjoyable if more folks participate IMHO.Proud resident of Missoula, MThttps://www.facebook.com/GrillingMontanahttp://grillingmontana.com

@allsid, Yea I agree. I think with this forum having no sticky this keeps moving down the thread so people miss it.
On a side not it looks like @SmokeyPitts is the clear leader so far.

I was hoping this didn't get bumped up again todayI think it was fun a it worked out great- especially considering it was the first go round on this site. I think we should keep it going. I agree that perhaps on the next one we make the time frame a little shorter. It's a shame we can't get any response from the mothership. It would be nice to be able to add something like this as a sticky or perhaps on that "best of" page. I guess you gotta be a Nascar driver to get a banner.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Winner picks timing and ingredient, style and/or dish on the next one.

Winner is @SmokeyPitts, your turn to pick the throwdown dates, times, and cook.

Mr. Henapple,I saw your post on the egghead forum and I must say I don't appreciate it. You obviously don't have a clue about the chicken bomb business. Do you know how much work it is to debone a whole quarter and butterfly a breast? I have a loyal following of customers who appreciate my product. I'm sorry I can't sell chicken bombs in your area, but I simply ran out of chicken.Smokey PittsCo-Owner, CCBB incWhich came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
