Made a trip to the state’s southern legislative building earlier today for an award ceremony. My wife was recognized by the Governor, my former boss, as a recipient of his GSD “Get Sh!t Done” Award for the work she does serving the state’s veteran community.
Awesome recognition.  Someone who plows thru the bureaucracy and gets $hit done is an endangered species today.  Congratulations to her.

We’re in to game week 36, the title still up for grabs and one relegation spot available.  Arsenal hold the cards at the top, West Ham have manoeuvred themselves in to the relegation box-seat.   European tournaments have reached their final stages, with a PL team in each final.  And yes, the mighty Eagles being one of them - huzzah, what a time to be alive.

    Saturday

Liverpool vs Chelsea - it’s a home win all day long but the goal and dismissal count remains, at best, vague.  The Chels’ have fully imploded and a spanking is highly conceivable, plus a customary red card. 3-0 - and dark times for Tech-bro/fund manager/ChatGPT football.

Brighton vs Wolves - meh, strolled 2-0.  Don’t even want to talk about it.

Fulham vs Bournemouth - the Cottagers have checked out and the Cherries can envisage European football next season.  0-2

Sunderland vs Man United - the season is over for the Maccems and United have nailed down champions Leagues football for next season, but I don’t get beach-wear vibes for this one.  Spirited encounter 1-2

Man City vs Brentford - this is now a must win for Citeh, after slipping to a draw from being ahead last week.  They would love a big, clear win - but the Bees are, despite all logic, perched in 7th and resolute, another team with Europe in their grasp.  Home advantage makes this 2-1, but a tight game.

    Sunday

Burnley vs Villa - a win for Villa more or less gives them Champions League football for next season and means they can chillax in the run up to their own Euro final later in May.  And the Clarets are absolutley rubbish. 0-2

Palace vs Everton - big win last night in the Euro semi-final means that the crowd will be bouncing.  The Toffees have flatlined recently, after flirting with a top 6 finish and will likely park the bus to make life awkward for the mighty Eagles.  It does have the hue of a draw 1-1

Forest vs Newcastle - I am thrilled to announce that forest got proper humped by Villa last night and so ejected from the Euro cup they should never have been in anyway.   League form is different gravy and Toon have been a mess for a few weeks.  A home win takes any risk of relegation off the table for Forest and matters little to Toon, but might cement the manager’s place on the job marker come June. 2-1

West Ham vs Arsenal - you want test of minerals, this is it.  Gooners have come back strong and the Hammers are off of a morale sapping big defeat last week, leaving them #1 contenders for the drop.  0-2 and the we can start pencilling names in for the honours at both end of the table.

    Monday

Spurs vs Leeds - if the Hammers get something and Spurs go all Spursy, this game has big ramifications. And the latter is always just below the surface, especially now their best player is injured for the remainder of the season. But, Leeds are in great form and will enjoy surging up the league. 1-2

Sun’s out, so planning a booze and BGE focussed weekend.  Mid-strength beer and sunscreen ahoy.

Had an event scheduled for today for a fundraiser, but a sudden death in the family took me 1200 miles away last minute, rather than cancel, got a couple people together and said let’s make this happen, only 300 people so doable ….. got my Stumps XL Stretch Cleaned and loaded , prepped the rub, pre measured everything for the pilaf before I left  , placed order online at Restaurant Depot, got that picked up …. All they needed was fire up the Stumps rub 150 pounds of Chuck Roll  and let it roll, 20 hour cook with 1 refill , my office manager came to my house to do pilaf , a quick phone call and walked her through it … food delivered on time…anything is possible

Sorry to hear about your family member.

Way to keep everything rolling! That's fantastic!

I prepped close to a couple cases of pork shoulder last night.

They're starting to come off the smoker.

I just hit the switch on the CVAP for a hold overnight.

Going to shred, bag, and freeze for a family friend that's hosting a wedding/family reunion coming up.

@lkapigian -Condolences to all impacted by your sudden family member death.
Being a true professional you got it all accomplished. The "devil is in the details" and you took care of that, had ready supporting staff and made it happen.  Yes, sir!

@WeberWho - your friend and the guests have no idea how well they are gonna be eating.  You may need a relief during that pull/shred process.  That will be a work-out.

When I pull a lot of pork I use a kitchen aid mixer.  It works a treat.

I recently started showing interest in ufc again because it is not pay per view per se but something was off with that fight. Idk if I’ll waste time staying up for a main event if it’s going to be an exhibition fight. Though the fights leading up to it were great

While that fight wasn’t great, the rest of the card was pretty good, especially the one before that. Chimaev had a killer weight cut that was probably the reason for his poor performance. The June 14 card looks really good.

thinking of planting thorny blackberries on the property line.  got to the camp this weekend and the neighbor planted 5 pare trees and 8 pencil holly plants on my side. this is after she had to move a large propane generator out of my yard. she tells me the latest property survey she had done last summer is wrong. this getting to be a year to year neighbor war :o

So she paid for the survey and didn’t like the results? One of the reasons why I didn’t go and take the second surveying licensing test.

im more surprised she even did the survey to put in a new house.  the house is maybe 3 times bigger than the town approved. theres a hill in front that is really a raised septic bed, raised septics are illlegal near a public drinking supply and hers is too close to the water by about 40 feet.  the generator was installed in the middle of my lawn. 30 trees came down where the rule is 5 every two years with new replanted trees to replace.  most of the trees she has replanted are pear, hope she likes bears in the yard =) you cant even leave bird feeders out when the bears are around. she limbed the trees in the neighbors yard destroying his fence. dug a trench nearly 90 feet thru my yard to bury her electrical

her propane tanks.... luckily i was there when they were going in. they are supposed to be 10 feet back from my wood shed or any structure, i settled for 5', looks damn ugly in the middle of her driveway but that 5 feet is mine. that would be a good place to grow those thorn berries

yeah, she is not happy about the survey =)
