I hadn’t noticed. I just plug mine in at the house.

our increase was 6 cents per L per day lately.fishlessman said:about a 5 cent increase per day this week. always amazes my how fast prices increase when the cost of a barrel goes up verse how slow prices drop when the price of a barrel drops. days verse several monthscanuckland -

wonder how that works out at -20 f at 36 cents per kilowatt hour at home or 50 cents plus at a tesla charging station driving roughly 350 miles per week. i drive to camp and back would be maybe a full charge each way at 107 miles door to door. the lexus does 350 miles at roughly 70 dollars a week on hightestfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -

No screwing around in flyover country: $2.49/gal last Sunday AM -$3.19/gal today. No end point in sight!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Well I saw $2.99 a gallon at Murphy’s, the cheapest station , an hour ago.@fishlessman. My electricity is 12.5 cents a kWhr at home. efficiency at those temps goes down. Download the PlugShare app to look for chargers in your area.

Yep. Definitely happy to have an eV in times like these.Gulfcoastguy said:I hadn’t noticed. I just plug mine in at the house."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Yep, something that I have seen several times. Gas prices can be ultra low but when someone sneezes in the Middle East gas prices soar. Iran and their Flying Monkeys have done the block the Gulf routine several times. High gas prices never outlast the payments on an EV and low gas prices never outlast the payments on a gas guzzler. I’m in the market for a new different EV late summer/ early fall. As to high electricity prices in the North East and the West Coast are usually, to a large part, the result of State legislation choices.

I’m envious of friends who do this all with the same solar system that powers their home. It completely severs any connection to utilities.Gulfcoastguy said:Yep, something that I have seen several times. I am in with the benefits of solar in a static environment. I have a US Flag that I hung outside (5'x9') on July 4, 2025 to remain until the evening of July 4, 2026 (changing out for weather deterioration) rolling into USA 250! I have a solar paneled light to do the protocol dark illumination but I would have bought a much larger panel had one existed for the singular purpose.
On a good weather day it will last around 9 hours in the winter thus a supplement is needed. Sunny late spring to early fall-it has more than enough juice when conditions are right. (I wish it was designed to use a bit of its juice to follow the sun...)
For the price point and to date longevity it is a great model of what solar can do.
Nothing to do with gas but my only foray into solar. FWIW-

@lousubcap, around here we occasionally use solar yard lights for lighting after hurricanes. A lot safer than candles.

Ideally you would install a 220 volt charger at both residences. If you have indoor parking you could just run a 14-50 plug at each place and carry the actual charger back and forth.fishlessman said:Almost half way there.Gulfcoastguy said:I hadn’t noticed. I just plug mine in at the house.

Your electricity is highly dependent on natural gas. Winter heating also draws on natural gas so you have a double whammy in the winter. So more natural gas or a non natural gas method of generating electricity in the winter is needed. -
