Crab cakes with krab, tomato, avocado, and bacon salad with ranch and sesame seeds (and a splash of sriracha). I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Love your plate, and love lightning (as long as it’s not striking me). We love watching storms as a family on the front porch.Have not made Cornish hens in forever, but have favourable memories. -
I have two Britts, that's jack. Aka, cannonball, turns two in a couple weeks. Gordie is the other one, 14years old a few weeks back. I asked for a crazy one this last time and the cannonball is off the charts

I need a love ❤️ button for that pic!!!

@BeanHead - do you make your own crab cakes as I have failed that quiz to the point that I buy sea-food store bought?
That salad has great colour (nod) but too much green for me.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Anyone else notice she said krab? Lol
cant blame you with the price per lb of lump or claw meat and i live 40 miles from the gulf -
These are store bought. When I could catch all the crabs I wanted with a chicken thigh and some patience I would make them from scratch. The cakes have real crab but I chopped up some fake krab for some extra protein on the salad.

It ain’t pretty but the house still smells great.

I think it is very pretty! But I’m with Cap on the toast scale so extra brown bits are much appreciated in my book.

It feels like fall. Spatch chicken. One over potatoes and onions. Broth. Rice. Should get us thru the week. 63 degrees right now. Overnight low of 41.Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

Homemade pesto featuring basil from plants given to us by neighbours. Used toasted pepitas instead of pine nuts to make it school-friendly.

Trout fillets with neighbour’s zucchini and rice. No plated pics.

We turn what would otherwise be garden waste into delicacies - harvest leaves of carrot, radish, cauliflower and pepper (any variety, mild or hot) plants for stir fryBeanHead said:Frugal living right there @GrateEggspectations nice work on the tablecloth gleaning.

And one step the left would be aligot. Trust me, once you go there you never go back. Part of you will wonder why you wasted all those years having fries with steak.DoubleEgger said:

Lentil soup, featuring ham, tomato, onion, carrot, celery, Parmesan and garlic (not called for, but added because I love the stuff). Topped with flat parsley. Tripled the recipe for freezing, as it freezes well.Great, simple recipe.

We've found that it is even better re-heated in the oven the next day, especially with a bonus layer of grated cheese across the top for a crisp top.

@GrateEggspectations That sounds great, as the temperatures cool I always look forward to eating more soups, simple and satisfying 😋Greensboro North Carolina
