My better half sauteed some cauliflower leaves from the garden, with garlic, onion and garden tomatoes. Kind of similar to kale.

I like it. No sense in wasting the greens/leaves of veg.

Those taste good even just thrown into dal. Lazy hack 😃
Funny you said dal, she did that last week.  This was nice, but our favourite is leaves of pepper (any) plants.

    All good here!
Great opening for the salmon right there.  Jalas with anything are dang near the only greens I eat.
I see a banquet waiting to happen.

I don't remember cauliflower having anything but green leaves, but this also made me ask the question, and I'm posting Siri's response as a PSA:

(seems to me I read a recent recipe recommending young tomato leaves for extra flavor...)

Thai chili rice and Slippery Egg w/Mushroom from Kenji Lopez-Alt’s Wok cookbook.  Really loving that book.

There’s more to it,  than what Siri has to say. I just looked up tomato leaves:

If you think about it, these are veg commonly grown in home backyards. If they were that toxic, we’d be hearing more about this. Probably then leading to folks not growing them as much.

@Botch @caliking Interesting reads. We don't eat tomato leaves, have been eating carrot and pepper leaves for years, touch wood.

Simple dish sweet potatoes, celery, carrots, onion pureee - made it a few nights ago but altered it some.  Added Carolina reapers, roasted green chilies and went non vegetation with some carmelized chicken and apple sausage diced thin.  Served with sliced scallions and some crumbled cheese for from the local Middle Eastern grocery store.

@DoubleEgger - those enchiladas have been stuck in my head. Is that a cheese sauce, or more of a cream sauce?

It was freshly grated Monterey jack. I put a light drizzle of enchilada sauce on top before the cheese. The tortillas get too soggy with sauces on top even after frying them. I was thinking about doing a sauce as a post cook topping next time add some depth to the flavor profile.

Goodness! I honestly love when you throw down the Persian/Iranian cooks. Others too, but these really hit.

I have a story about Seagrove... the last time we were at ButtBlast, SWMBO wanted to roam around Seagrove. Stopped for lunch at a mom 'n' pop joint. Woman, one booth over, looks unwell, and did a faceplant in her soup. Came this close to starting CPR. EMS arrived, and knew her on a first name basis. The owners insisted on comping our meal.
