Porsche has finally released a hybrid 911.  The electric motor(s) are not connected to the drivetrain; its connected to the oversize turbo, so it's constantly spinning, no boost lag (gotta wonder what the life on that turbo is :s ).  Only $196K.

Warmed up, properly oiled/cooled, life may be improved with a more consistent RPM, especially if separated from exhaust gases - cold starts and high revs before properly warmed up kills turbos.
Shutting an engine off before a turbo has spooled down is a good way to burn one up. They continue to spin without oil pressure
This is so true!  My ex-wife immediately revs her twin-turbo V8 Cayenne when she leaves, and rolls in hot and just shuts it off.  I tried to explain to what temp everything needed before high revs and also let it sit for a minute  or two when she pulls in to let it cool down and slow up before she shuts it off.  It didn’t stick.
The “warm up” (as indicated on the temperature read out) on swmbo car is a buzz kill. I’d love to pull out of the driveway and dog the sheet out of it.
Cold start with your foot buried while in neutral is where it’s at!  Best video and sound for influencers.

I just got back from 3 nights in South Beach where I saw a number of exotics but I didn't get a chance to catch a pic of them - even though we saw the same d-bag in a Lamborghini revving it loudly up and down Collins Ave several times.  Relative to this discussion, while there, I learned from someone in the car industry that they cynically refer to the lowest performing package that includes all the options to make it look better as the "Miami trim" or "Miami package".

XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

Should have done that last off-season with all the toxicity and issues he brought to the team lately.

  • Nice spotting, @WeberWho

A missed opportunity, to be sure, but I passed this house twice yesterday evening. The first time, a brand new 911 Turbo S was flanked by the twins. Told myself I’d get a shot later and alas, it was gone.

I’ll catch another glimpse sooner or later.

I would not have parked that ride anywhere near other cars.  A brisk walk but then again if you have it then who cares, I guess.

On top of that it was in a Menards parking lot. Menards parking stalls are a little bit wider than your typical parking lot stall for door dings but I still would have parked it towards the back of the lot in fear of getting hit with a cart or something sticking out of cart. Lots of lumber being tossed and loaded into vehicle's.

If he was a true Aston Martin owner he should have parked it slanted in two stalls in a handicapped spot.

Depending on the adult beverage consumption and wind, any twin screw craft will make it happen.  Looks like the captain has it together soley based on prop wash.
