What is Minnesota Lake Rice? Wild rice? Looks too light colored for Wild Rice but it could be the lightDoubleEgger said:Lemon pepper lavender rubbed King Salmon with Minnesota lake rice and broccolini.

That’s Alabama sausage. I’m surprised you found it near you.Botch said:Grilled Conecuh Sausage with Loubia (Moroccan white bean stew)

I went thru the sausage section of my Commissary carefully this week and found Conecuh-brand sausage, which I remember a couple folks here recommending. Also wanted to try the bean stew recipe, from the Spain on a Fork channel. Both were great.
only place near me that has it is Hanscom AFB in bedford ma. the military has a connectionfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
A friend made this killer meal; rice & poblano peppers, bok choy & onions, and Flautas stuffed with potato, Oaxaca cheese, garlic, and onions. Topped with a homemade adobo sauce that had so much flavor (and melt you face hot) and an aioli sauce to temper the heat. Freakin amazing. I tried to return favor by repurposing for a decadent tostada dish for breakfast. - fried the potato stuffing, added an egg, and fried corn tortillas, with a quick homemade pico.

Dinner tonight is appetizers and cocktails with the neighborhood ladies (all seven of us out here, or I would have made more eggs 🤣).

Wow @Ozzie_Isaac! The meal your friend made is itself a study in flavors, but you didn't slack either.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

The other day we had homemade kimchi, bok choy, rice and a poached egg. Another flavor bomb. She sets the bar pretty high and I am having to up my game. Terrible colors from flash on phone, don’t do the dish justice.

Helped a friend cook an amazing dinner last night. Scallops, pesto, and a tomato vinaigrette . Good food and great company! (Homegrown pesto and tomatoes). Mezcal pairs very nice with scallops.

First crack at Japanese milk bread following Evolutions in Bread. Not bad but could be better, need to tweak dough size, ingredients and bake temp/time. Thanks also to @paqman for sharing a similar recipe, my next attempt will incorporate what I like from both recipes.
Dough a tad undersized and over proofed...

Home cured lean pork loin bacon, shoyu egg, mayo, curry-miso-sesame oil condiment...

Sooo @Canugghead can you please point us in the direction of this lean pork loin bacon recipe? I’m guessing it’s amazing.
-
@johnmitchell Thanks, like I said, quite happy but still has lots of room for improvement.
@ColbyLang The surface is super slick but I still coated with margarine for good measure. Next time I'll try paper towel soaked lightly with canola oil.
@caliking Thanks, still learning from all the great cooks here.
@BeanHead Sorry to disappoint, nothing special, here's a link to how I did it in the early years. In recent years I got lazy and cure with just Readycure (cure with added salt) and nothing else.

@Canugghead if I may suggest, brush the Pullman pan with softened butter. Then, sprinkle flour all around it. Knock out any excess flour, and lay the dough in it. You could give the inside of the sliding top the same treatment, depending on proof time, and whether you want a rounded top vs. flat top for your loaf. You could use the baking spray that has aerosolized oil + flour in it, but I feel it has an off taste. Plus, one more thing to buy. And, buttah is always bettah
Edit: Just remembered that you have professional bakery experience, so I may be preaching to the choir!#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
Thanks @Canugghead ! Loin is on special this week so I know what I am grabbing today!
