Though we have to consider a growing boycott of one of the world’s largest EV manufacturers. By the very people who actually buy EVs.
-
I'm sure this will just serve to increase sales of hybrids of which there is a much richer set of choices.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Do they count hybrids in "battery electric vehicles" or just full EVs? It's odd language.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Thankfully there are plenty of other choices for those people. These days if you want an EV, you can get one that’s not Tesla, no problem.Gulfcoastguy said:Though we have to consider a growing boycott of one of the world’s largest EV manufacturers. Ah but to charge it on the road? Now the Musk has spiked NEVI that is?

Because they all have batteries.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Every car has a battery 😉. But hybrids depend exclusively for burning petroleum for motive power. They may be somewhat more efficient than non hybrids though the increase varies.

It's ok if you don't know what is counted in the charts above, that's really all that I was asking.
They are labeled "battery electric vehicles" so they're not cars with just a starter battery. Many manufacturers list hybrids as electric or electrified because there is some electric propulsion.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
This is your post that I was replying to. Note “hybrids “.Gulfcoastguy said:

Question still stands.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Sure, still plenty of options. Besides, most people use these as daily drivers and are charging at home.Gulfcoastguy said:Ah but to charge it on the road? Now the Musk has spiked NEVI that is?
NEVI is also just a US initiative. There's nothing stopping other countries from building up their EV charging infrastructure.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about Musk's moves here, but overall the future of EVs globally looks quite bright."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Have you heard of the condo highrise that bans wood and charcoal burning grills? This smart aleck argued at the condo board meeting that his Traeger is officially an electric grill Lol

Guessing, but I think they went more hybrid than dedicated EV, the traditional car companies have largely made hybrids of popular existing cars while their dedicated EVs have been new models. Dedicated EV companies have innovated to compete against ICE cars, but big auto has made cars like the leaf that don't erode the market of their popular models.Botch said:Wonder why Japan's EV market share is so small.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
Or could be the AI data. American companies have been dipping their toes, they don't really innovate as much.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Extensively use of trains and the major car manufacturers have a fixation on hydrogen.Botch said:Wonder why Japan's EV market share is so small. -
Ah, the hydrogen vehicles may be part of it (I know Toyota is really pushing this but wasn’t aware of any consumer-level vehicles yet).Gulfcoastguy said:

I doubt the extensive use of trains, because most of Europe uses a lot of trains and the rating is the ratio of ICE vs EV vehicles; commercial transport isn’t included."First method of estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him."

They might not have the charging infrastructure capacity given its extreme density.
