Thankfully there are plenty of other choices for those people. These days if you want an EV, you can get one that’s not Tesla, no problem.

Every car has a battery 😉. But hybrids depend exclusively for burning petroleum for motive power. They may be somewhat more efficient than non hybrids though the increase varies.

It's ok if you don't know what is counted in the charts above, that's really all that I was asking.

They are labeled "battery electric vehicles" so they're not cars with just a starter battery. Many manufacturers list hybrids as electric or electrified because there is some electric propulsion.

Sure, still plenty of options. Besides, most people use these as daily drivers and are charging at home.

NEVI is also just a US initiative. There's nothing stopping other countries from building up their EV charging infrastructure.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about Musk's moves here, but overall the future of EVs globally looks quite bright.

Guessing, but I think they went more hybrid than dedicated EV, the traditional car companies have largely made hybrids of popular existing cars while their dedicated EVs have been new models. Dedicated EV companies have innovated to compete against ICE cars, but big auto has made cars like the leaf that don't erode the market of their popular models.

Ah, the hydrogen vehicles may be part of it (I know Toyota is really pushing this but wasn’t aware of any consumer-level vehicles yet).
I doubt the extensive use of trains, because most of Europe uses a lot of trains and the rating is the ratio of ICE vs EV vehicles; commercial transport isn’t included.
