A video about enhanced geothermal power. It looks like it can be scaled up rapidly. Which is needed to power data centers. However there is a widespread movement to ban all fracking.

You may have missed this during all your research, but Al Gore did not, in fact, say that.

Regardless, it is moronic to quote a politician as some kind of expert on climate science.  He’s … a politician.  You might as well quote Trump on combating hurricanes with nuclear weapons.

My lab has a current research project on EGS. The opposition to fracking isn’t going to be a major issue for this technology.

Much of the opposition to fracking is based on what it’s seeking, which is natural gas.  EGS is very different.

A much bigger obstacle is all the permitting required.  But there are several new start up companies looking to build EGS plants.  To me it makes a lot of sense.  It’s a renewable energy source that doesn’t depend on the weather.

It can also be done very quickly once the various permits are approved. In fact some of our European associates should consider it. In fact US fracking companies (natural gas) could fairly easily convert to a new business model.

They are.  France, Germany, Finland all have active projects on this if I recall.  There’s probably a few more.

89% of the homes in Iceland are geothermally-powered.

Iceland is into geothermal in a big way.  Rick Steves has a episode on Iceland that touched on its use there.  As I recall he noted the number of open windows in homes.  Seems that Geo there is so cheap they don't bother to adjust their thermostats, if the house gets too warm just they crack open the windows.

And they've been doing it a long time, I remember first learning about it from our Weekly Reader, in gradeschool!

To be clear, EGS is very different from traditional geothermal.

Isn’t it a fun phenomenon that no matter what is said about all the global warming or covid vaccines even, that you snowballs always seem to say it was never said.

Well, there are claims that can be supported and ones that cannot.  I’m sure you found that Al Gore quote/meme on some right wing nutjob site, or on Facebook, but the fact of the matter is he never said it.  It’s just BS.

What he did make a claim about concerned snow on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro.  That’s … not the same thing.  Can you even read, brah?

If you want to find something that says the climate is changing (duration not addressed) just look at the Northern Sea Route and the duration of availability trend.

There are a boat load of predictions and dire warnings that you alarmist were preaching that simply never came to fruition. In fact, none of them have. The ice caps are still here. A small portion of them, yes; why do you think Greenland/Canada are now in nat'l discussion?  The land masses aren’t under water. Smaller island nations in the Pacific are now gone, and destroyed homes along the Gulf coast aren't being granted any insurance to rebuild.  We still have snow and glaciers. Seriously, dude?  What "news" are you watching?!?  Hurricanes are no more prevalent or stronger than they ever were. See last comment.  The polar bears are doing quite well. Your personal assignment: look up the Earth's polar bear population from twenty years ago, and from last year; list your source(s).  The only thing that has changed is you changed it to climate change so as to encompass every single weather event, known to man and can still spin it as our fault. How convenient.
The bolded comments are mine.  This will be my last communication with you, unless you can come thru with any, any evidence to the contrary.

And as I predicted Governor Reeves successfully delayed NEVI in my state until Trump potentially killed it. Even Alabama has 13 of these stations either open or under construction. I smell the Musky Ones tracks all over it.

Not so much global warming, but a demonstration of the importance of the EPA.

About recovering rare earth minerals from coal ash. There are piles of it just sitting around near power plants. Rare earth minerals are needed for permanent magnets(windmills, EV motors etc)

I though the plan was to ship all that ash to Greenland and have them pick it out?

That’s just the concept of a plan.

Well flyash is already a component used in concrete to reduce water permeability and thus reinforcement rust. It is also mixed in with powdered limestone and granular soil to form a lowgrade polzolnic concrete base for highways. I have used it for both in my previous career. I was always a neat sort of engineer, I didn't like piles of waste sitting around. Just like I am in favor of 4th generation fast burning nuclear reactors just to burn up the stock of nuclear fuel rods that have just been used once and have 98% of their energy left. But if you would rather just meme go ahead.
