How do you become a billionaire?
"Earn" a million dollars a year (show of hands here). Don't spend a dime, just save it (we'll ignore investments and interest for now). Do this, every year. And start in... 1023 AD.
I looked up what happened in 1023 on Wikipedia. I didn't recognize any of the events, much less any names, but someone associated with the Bishop of Canterbury got killed, or something.
Now go to Google and see how many billionaires have $1B. Most have a few more than one.
Think about that.

High end brothels? I never considered that a crime with the provisos that all employees were of legal age, they paid taxes, were health inspected , and weren't involved in human trafficking. If the customers were married that was an issue between them and their spouse. Keeping it illegal just exposes people to blackmail.

Some interesting polling numbers on Israel and Ukraine:
About the declining U.S. support for Israel: Just under a third of Americans polled this week say Washington should continue to support Israel’s war against Hamas; that number was 41% just one month ago, Reuters reported Wednesday. Meanwhile, NPRthis week found a 12-point rise from a month ago in the number of Americans who think the Israeli response has been “too much.” However, “a majority of Republicans (52%) said the response has been about right, up 8 points from last month,” according to NPR.
Notable: About 36% don’t want to authorize funding for either Israel’s war against Hamas or Ukraine’s defense against a Russian invasion. And a similar percentage, 35%, support funding both wars. “Another 14% only want to provide funding to Israel, and 12% only to Ukraine,” NPR reports.
And surprisingly, NPR found “51% of Republicans said [the U.S.] should focus more on its own problems and play less of a leadership role,” which is “a huge shift from the hawkishness of the not-so-distant GOP past.”
