    There is some rich recent history embedded in this thread.
    Keeping on the opening theme- SOSDD here (and a one time explanation-Same Ol' $hit, Different Day).  But it is early although LEO is calling.

    I suspect the issue is we have a few (great) funnel threads, which serve to absorb content from what would otherwise be one-off posts. Between WAYDN and WAYCTD, that eliminates almost all of what I would otherwise be posting as new threads.

    Once again-Friday night and early but the precursors are fairly quiet and they are solid indicators.
    I've got nothing to juice this place up these days other than below are the generation labels assigned to your age:
    "The definitions are not official. However, based on widespread consensus as well as new Gen Z analysis by the Pew Research Center, and the one generation defined by the U.S. Census Bureau (Baby Boomers), these are the birth years and ages of the generations you’ll want to use in 2023.

    Note: Generation names are based on when members of that generation become adults (18-21)."

    I would offer that the physical location/size of the hand full would frame the final assessment.  A hand full of richard or a hand full of pus-y on Friday slow forum night...never mind other attributes.  B)

    Oh BOY!!! after all these years and I am now 79 years young I was under the impression that having been born in July ‘44 that I was a  “boomer” and now I see I was not! Do any REAL boomers want to buy any carefully cared for boomer t-shirts, hats, etc??? 

    Actually I am kidding as I have none…but I do have a t-shirt I bought back in the ‘70’s when I was subscribing to racy MADD magazine…or was that PLAYBOY or…OH CRAP or was it Mechanics Illustrated?

    Seems like a lost art. That being said, I don’t recall ever having seen a car give way on an incline (other than one I was a passenger in, which went from a “parked” position - neutral with no handbrake - to rolling down a hill into a ravine at a party when I was about 15. We all jumped out just in time to see it take off at a good clip).

    Having never owned one, I’m curious if the cars with parallel parking assistance crank the wheels at the end. I’m guessing not.

    I believe that practice faded away in the mid 1960's, once automatic transmissions received a "P" (park) position on the gear selector. 
    Still is a prudent thing to do, but rarely see it.

    My youngest is 25 (soon to be 26), so she took driver training/instruction/education 10 years ago.  I remember being surprised they did not teach that to her.  I explained the reasons to her because I am a dinosaur and she was voted most likely to have a manual transmission between her and her sister.  It is a dying practice from the past, I fear.  

    Kinda like posting on this forum.

    A dying art indeed.

    Speaking of driver education I learned a technique from my daughter’s driver education notes eons ago that is a game changer for me - how to position the vehicle when waiting to turn left. It's not as rare as incline parking, may be we should save this for next Friday  =)

    Yesterday we test drove a BMW I4 because I have never driven a battery car before, The sales lady said if you pull into someones driveway and can't get turned around the car will use its memory to back you out completely up to like 160'.  Also it auto backs into spots and parallel parks on its own.  Times are changing.

    Imagine taking a driver licence road test in a Tesla on autopilot.  Don't know if anything changed, if you take a road test across the Pond back in the day with an automatic transmission (rare) car, you can't drive one with stick shift.
