^^^ I was just going to post about it.  Very catchy, and very Dan-esque!

So, this one guy, turned 80 today.  And he's still workin' his ass off.

Well eff me.  I eliminated the link from the "?" on, and now when I click on it it does go to 80.
I'll read the rest tomorrow.  Maybe.

Blast From The Past, but it feels like they never left.  Pomplamoose, her singing in French, with a loud drum loop, a 3-note flugel solo, and Larry Goldings (Larry Golding Jr?) on weirdo keys.  Beautiful.

I'm not there, but tonight the Foo Fighters are fighting the foo at USANA amphitheater in west SLC.  Read in the newspaper this morning (yeah I still read a newspaper so FY) that they replaced their beloved drummer (RIP) with the guy who drummed for...
    wait for it...
    DEVO??

(Are we not Men?  We are Foo Fi!)

I can't quite picture that, BUT, I'm a totally different person than I was back in college, when we analyzed DEVO tracks on an analog oscilloscope, so I guess we all can change, given enough years.

Here the guys on the "Dead Wax" channel compare and constrast Jaco's "Teen Town" (from Heavy Weather) to Vulfpek's "Dean Town" (not a comparison I would've caught). With guest Adam Neely (a monster musician/teacher). The discussion gets deep in the weeds where only a musician would enjoy, but some really interesting stuff on compressor ducking, and how it's a holdover sound from track bouncing from the early days.

Leonid and Friends.  I've been following these guys for a long time, a russian group that did a lot of Chicago covers early on, but here they're covering an EW&F tune (my two favorite bands in High School).
I've clicked thru their band biographies and a number of them were from Ukraine, so at this point I don't know what the status of the band is.  I'll still enjoy their music.

Bob James and two unknown (to me) rhythm players (the bassist looks like Jim Carey) doing the theme from "Taxi".  This is beautiful.

Any brass player from the mid-70's to... much later, was a fan of Maynard Ferguson. I personally didn't care for his somewhat sloppy style, but no one can deny he was the second-best trumpet screamer of our age.
The other great thing about him was how he nurtured up-and-coming young musicians (as did Bird, Miles, Duke, Quincy, Zawinal, et al), and his alumni list is stunning. He made it a point to always work with HS and college jazz bands, usually using them to open his own shows, and include talks and workshops beforehand; a great, great human being.
    Birdland. Enjoy!

I was going to post this masterpiece on the Jimmy Buffett tribute thread; all these years later I find out it was Joe Walsh (actually more appropriate).

Here the guys on the Old Wax channel go over how Silk Sonic changed the recorded and live versions of Smokin' Out the Window, and they don't really get past the intro!  So many details packed into these recordings, absolutely love it.  (this will probably only be of interest to the musicians on the forum)

Back in the '80s there was a synth-pop band that I took a liking to, Swing-Out Sister. The vocalist was very good, and the tracks had a lot of cool chord progressions and unexpected key changes/NOT key changes (the build-up chords suggested a keychange, which never happened, but then later in the song you weren't expecting one and it smacked you upside the head. So Cool!)
Doodooz Tube just showed me this, Level 42 + orchestra inviting the SOS vocalist out, and doing a couple tunes; again, suggested key changes that don't happen, and then key changes smacking you, LOVE it!  Break Out was SOS's sig song, with the same key shenanigans.

I've never been a Jackson Browne fan. But here's a video of him doing "Doctor My Eyes" with Sklar and Russ Kunkel on percussion in (iirc) a "Tiny Desk" setting, during the COVID thing. BUT they've added a bunch of diverse musicians from around the globe, and it suddenly is Magic! Enjoy.

Wow, where did this come from?!?  Very early Genesis (mid-seventies?), live; and the video quality is quite good for that period.  Good clip also to realize how good a drummer Phil Collins was.

It's in my local daily newspaper.

    Have you tried - https://www.bizarro.com/daily-comic ?

Not sure how many you get  to see for free on the comicsking site before they want some $. Did you sign up for his weekly email (assuming he might still be sending that even tho he is now in syndication)?
