How to turn a fine spirits thread into a political statement-you can do better than this.

pgprescott said:I’ve heard it’s very good but maybe not 250 good. My take is if 250 isn’t a huge amount of money for you it may be a buy. If that’s a huge amount then there are better values out there. It’s a very handsome bottle and it’s very aged for bourbon. I’ve heard it’s not overly oaky. I don’t mind oaky but some don’t care for it. If oak forward is offensive to you then this may be the aged bottle for you. It is highly allocated/rare. May be a buy once sorta deal but not twice. The whiskey is good for sure.I’ll gladly pass—thanks for the analysis!!LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas

Well if we are getting political about our spirits…yes, that is Ted Cruz on this bottle of The Senator.

Enjoy!
I've been fortunate to know those knuckleheads since about 8th grade. I couldn't ask for a better group of friends. They ended up grabbing these bottles as my buddy had intentions of getting me a bottle that was pushing the $300/mark but decided last minute thinking it might not be the best idea. I'm glad he didn't. That would have stayed sealed as I would feel too guilty to drink something that nice.
I appreciate the tips above. That definitely helps out! Much appreciated! @pgprescott"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

It is very reasonably priced and has a special place in my heart and on my shelf. -
lousubcap said:That is a great find. I would give serious thought to offering that up in a blind tasting as it is extremely hard to sight much less buy around here. But like any bourbon (or other beverage) it is all in the taster, Enjoy!XL BGE

@saluki2007 - Thanks for the spread sheet. Some great lineups. Day two is quite a run of heavy hitters. That could be quite dangerous.
I'm sure all will enjoy your results.

Wife and I both caught the flu. Coupled with her asthma acting up and the same time, she is currently a resident of the local hospital.
We both had our flu shots so hopefully it won’t be too bad, but I currently feel like refried sh!t.MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.
