    I'm not sure there's anything to be alarmed by, it's not like social media platforms have ever facilitated the genocide of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, for example.

    Another sobering read on social media. I read it and did exactly what the title suggests. This is the book that inspired “The Social Network” movie. The author is a pioneer of Silicon Valley, The Godfather of VR and has worked with or been on the board at many of the influential social media/tech firms out there. He does not have social media. Available in audio as well.

    Musk comes across as a very insecure person despite his incredible achievements.  He can't just go about his many businesses but has to create dang near daily "look at me" publicity.  
    As has been said, publicity is better than no publicity but when is enough.  For him, there is no end-point.  FWIW-

    Seems like all the snowflakes are leaving Twitter….they can’t stand free speech and not being in control of the narrative.  Musk doesn’t really care about that crowd.  Don’t let the door hit you in the a$$. LOL
    Makes me think this forum may move in another direction in another 7 days, when the mid-term results are tallied!  Some of you Twitter followers may not like the new format!
    JIC won’t like it for sure, and hopefully he quits posting Twitter links in the off topic section.  If we wanted to read Twitter, we would have an account. Stupid to keep imbedding those Twitter links. Sheep fodder to say the least. 
    John will not like the direction Musk takes with Twitter going forward. It won’t remain a left wing liberal anti Trump socialist forum.

    Free speech is as much choosing to leave as it is staying and saying what you want.  Twitter has always had all sides, that’s not going to change.  The issue has never been left or right as you choose to see the world, it’s how civil or how toxic and abhorrent it is. I guess if you don’t read it yourself, you couldn’t be expected to apprehend that.

    Consider that when celebrities leave, it’s not them being snowflakes, it’s them saying I don’t want to associate with this platform and a fair number of my fans may make the same choice. Think of it as leadership.
