I know this is more like a warm weather beverage, but I had to look this up again.
I like my butt rubbed and my pork pulled.

It is great as a marinade.

    ... for the cook.

I don't want the damn recipe. Just someone to pour it down my gullet when the need arises.

    Extra bag for Ashish.
    Got it.

Oh by the way....we need a permission slip signed by Sruti, relieving us of all liability and forgoing her share.

    Good luck with that.

Ron - do you use fresh brewed iced team, or bottled tea?

This is an actual question for @YukonRon, I'm not being a smart a$$. Why do you use Unsweetened ice tea when you are adding a cup of sugar?

That said, I've made seven batches of these and never deviated from the recipe.

Great question,I think it is because sweet tea, the way I used to drink it, much like an ice cold glass of high viscous sugar with a touch of tea, would be too sweet for the volume mixed.

    That was my guess.

The origin of this recipe, was from a lady who attended the church, My Beautiful Wife was formerly a member of.

It is only coincidence My Beautiful Wife is no longer a member after receiving that recipe.

In our neighborhood, that is enough for a great night.

Really wonderful neighbors and a lot of fun.

Around my area of Kentucky, where I am originally from, they referred to WT101 as “The Kicken’ Chicken”.

We use “Ev Dub” or “Old Fo”.

“Whatever works for you”, is the only bourbon I recommend.

Fresh brewed, but I do suppose you could use any bottled tea. We prefer Earl Gray, but any unsweetened tea will do.

Then it would be called Rye Slushies.

I have, it is good, but I prefer bourbon.

Bourbon has been my “go to” for whiskey my entire life. I have been known to perhaps do a two fingered pour upon occasion.

For me, drinking responsibly, is a practice, not a goal. Yes I am responsibly prepared, by sitting in corner by myself, in a chair with multiple seatbelts sitting over a tarp, with my bourbon in a non spill container, away from fire, wearing steel toed boots, safety glasses, and safety gloves. I have learned.

The bourbon shush was a hit!  There wasn’t a drop left by the end of the evening.  I did tweak the recipe a bit.  Since I made peach-smoked pulled pork with the peach slather, I added a few cups of a peach whiskey to the mix thinking it would go with the pork.  It was so good, and several people asked for the recipe.  Thanks again for sharing!

We have done that too! For specifically that cook. Nobody complained. I have since been told pineapple and just about any fruit frozen concentrate you can imagine has been used in it by someone. Just like my only bourbon recommendation; use what you prefer, as for ingredients; tweak to your satisfaction. It is a good starting point, though.

Long story. There are those who do not like me and the flags are the result. I give them purpose, so I feel pretty good about it.

    No worries.

It does seem that every event we pour this drink, we end up converting some folks.

Thank you for the kind words, I will forward to My Beautiful Wife.
