There's a big difference between taking your truck off-road with a sense of self-preservation in mind vs hauling butt like a kid that just got his first truck out of HS.Take it easy, don't take risks, drive the truck like it's *not* a d!ck extension and you shouldn't have any problems. You can trash a suspension in 10 minutes or 10 years depending on how you drive it off road.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Also, don't let your kids drive it when they get old enough.

My thoughts are
the jeeps got the fun factor, remove the doors and top, off-roading and customizable
the 4runner is reliable and capable offroad just not quite to the level of a jeep without potentially costly modifications
the 2 trucks are neck and neck and wouldn’t be used to offroad any. Also no there won’t be any lift kits 22” wheels and 38” tires applied to the trucks. They will remain stockWhat’s crazy to me is that the trucks actually get decent mileage now. My dad has a new RAM Laramie and I’ve driven it quite a bit. That thing is awesome to drive.Rockwall, Tx LBGE, Minimax, 22" Blackstone, Pizza Party Bollore. Cast Iron Hoarder.

Soccer Mom's have ruined the Wrangler for me. That’s all I see is soccer moms with their lifted Wranglers with light bars and winches. It’s kind of crazy actuallyTEXASBGE2018 said:My thoughts are

You should off road the old 4Runner. Lift it, snorkel, head south.South of Columbus, Ohio.

Thought about that but it’s 2WD. I dunno if it would be worth adding all the updates I would need to for it to be capable.alaskanassasin said:You should off road the old 4Runner. Lift it, snorkel, head south.Rockwall, Tx LBGE, Minimax, 22" Blackstone, Pizza Party Bollore. Cast Iron Hoarder.

@Mattman3969 That may be my wife’s favorite dish. Yours looks great. It’s so simple and elegant amd delicious.@nolaegghead That sauce looks particularly tasty. I went to the store this evening and picked up bones and vegetables to roast for a brown stock. I’m going to make a bunch of demi-glace and freeze in ice cube trays. Those dark, brown, thick sauces are so delicious...Coleman, Texas

That looks pretty damn good to me. My wife on the other hand would insist on ruining it with something green.nolaegghead said:

@SciAggie - I put a SV twist on this one. Rubbed chicken with Italian seasoning then into the bag with butter, lemon juice, chicken stock and the capers and brine. Ran it for 2hrs at 147. Then the chicken went into an ice bath cause I was afraid it would overcook during the sear as thin as it was. Seared in butter and EVOO, removed then dumped the bag in to boil a bit with the lemon slices.SciAggie said:@Mattman3969 That may be my wife’s favorite dish. Yours looks great. The flavors were amplified in the chicken. It had a slight green tint from the celery and bell peppers so I hit the gravy with some port and Kitchen Bouquet (whatever that brown stuff was called) plus roasted garlic bullion. Man, wish I could duplicate it but it was too chaotic when ("chef") created. Art sometimes is greater than the sum of the artist. This sez Toyota, also. I'd still be driving my '92 (230,000 miles) except someone ran a stop sign and totaled it. My '07 Taco only has 63K on it, and it will be my last truck; as long as the new 4Runner has enough space for you, it'd be a no-brainer for me. My 2-scent's worth...TEXASBGE2018 said:
Main thing I need is a vehicle that can last 200,000 miles with not a lot of upkeep or issues. I love my 4runner because I’ve barely had to make any repairs on it and it still runs great. I’m keeping it till it dies.“I'll have what she's having."

I had no intention of buying a tri-tip as I only stopped at the grocery store for one quick item. I couldn't pass up the tri-tip when walking by for $8. So it came home with me. Well not exactly. I've been helping my Dad with a project after work the past few weeks. So the tri-tip went their house. So I showed up at their house with a random tri-tip. My mom isn't the biggest steak fan (She already made soup) so it was just my Dad and I. It was a total guy meal. Just steak and toast.
I tossed it on their egg and didn't really give it much thought. I hit it with whatever steak seasoning they had. Caveman the last minute or two. The flavor wasn't all that great with the steak rub they had but it was tender as all get out!

Easy basic meal. Meat with a little carbs."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

@lkapigian I like the way you think. It seem as if you feel it's better to do some good for others instead of spending time arguing about who's right on a BBQ forum. Happy Holidays my friend. at least 70 people will feel some happiness and a sense of appreciation as a result of your gesture.

This seems to be based on the belief that macro-economics is ruled by straightforward statistical rules, incorrect or not? Which is more likely, that people are making bad choices, which statistically transfer their wealth upward, or that the 'game' is rigged, and no 'correct theory' of behavior is going to significantly change that? When the house is rigged, what will be the benefit of better gambling knowledge of all the players? I don't think we can be saved by ivory tower academics when the finance industry, patent and copyright law, and 'free traders' have tilted the table so dramatically their way.nolaegghead said:Bob
