It has been 4 months, and happy to be back!

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!

It has been just over 4 months since I was last here, and it was a purposeful hiatus.  I did not create another account, I was not locked out, and I did not even stop by and creep without logging in.
But I am back.

I have a lot to catch up on, and based on the number of times I have been mentioned in posts and items in my inbox, it looks like some people either missed me or said they were glad I was gone.  Once I read them all I will know which case it is....

But without further ado, I will catch you up on what I have been up to.  All in pictures....

Did some fishing.

Took down three dead/dying trees and sold what I could for lumber and cut the rest for firewood

Then a week later had three trees come down in a storm blocking the driveway for 4 days.  Ended up cleaning it up ourselves.

Started a driveway and front walk project.

Tore out a sidewalk

Also did some cooking and ate pretty well.

And of course made some sausage along the way.

And last but not least, as many of you know we sold the boat I fished on for years at the end of summer 2019.  I will now be navigating and fishing off this 58’ dingy moving forward. So you can expect to see some “water to table” posts next year.

I am now off to reply to some pms and see what you all have been up to.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Now that is rolling back in "hot!"  Glad you have surfaced and all is well.  Impressive projects undertaken and finished right there.
You are definitely on target with "eating well" throughout.
I feel sorry for you having to mess about in your 58' dingy-better to be lucky than good any day.
Make the best of and enjoy Thanksgiving-

Happy thanksgiving to you as well. That suction attachment on the mini excavator is bad ass. Wish I would’ve had that when I laid the flagstone patio at the old house!

Thanks everyone. It has been a super busy 4 months for me. Work has been insane, then I focused on the driveway/walkway and just lived without sharing, but at the same time I missed learning from all of you. It was time to come back.

@ColbyLang that vacuum attachment with the mini excavator saved my butt. Some of the flagstones were 300+ Lbs, but since I did it all nearly all by myself that was the only way I could get it done. It was especially useful when I put the large pieces in the mud (they were all put in mortar) being able to move large stones into position with one hand was priceless. Just lots of back and forth to the excavator. The only thing remaining is to saw cut the edges, epoxy the grout lines, and grade the soil. Then done. I will post when that is complete.  Here was one of those large pieces as I pulled it from the skid then where it landed in the walkway. For size reference, walkway width is 50-52”, and that stone is about 6’ -6.6’ long.  and I could only lift maybe 25% of the stones by myself.
