The last time I made fresh pasta the kitchen looked like an explosion in a cocaine lab. I didn't find it so much better than high quality purchased pasta so I never tried it again.

Bread is almost the same as far as the "store bought" goes. There are so many artisanal bread bakers around here it is easy to find good stuff. But sometimes it is just the pleasure of doing it myself that finds me kneading a batch of dough.

Another round of CI taters, shrooms, and cow. This meal always pleases the wife.

What temp and rough time to do your taters this way on the egg?

Thanks John. The rub obviously has considerable sugar in it. They caramelized right up. I’m not sure that a high heat indirect method might not work better with this particular rub.  They ate just fine though.

@Mattman3969 - I was planning nachos tonight but in true lazy man fashion.  I think I will just have a peanut butter sandwich after your above cook.  I would put quite a hurt on that banquet.  On a roll for sure.  Keep 'em coming.

I set them up indirect at anywhere from 300-375. They take around an hour or so, I really just eyeball it and test the texture after 50 mins in and stir them around a couple/few times from the start.

When they are nearly done I just pull them and let them sit in the oven while I remove the stone and set up direct and grill the steaks. The key for potatoes that we like is a good crispy crust. I oil the pan, coat the potatoes in oil, and add a couple of globs of butter just to be safe.  ;)

    Love you bro!
  • @JohnInCarolina: Verdict on the cheesecake crème brûlée - Very decadent. Not sweet. Rich and tart. I’d make this again.

SRF Manhattan roast on the tisserie. 325 degrees for two hours, pulled at 120. It was the bomb. S&P, fresh minced rosemary, parsley, and thyme. With a loaded baked potato.

Four giant breasts. Two with Trader Joe's Coffee & Garlic, two with a hodgepodge of different rubs. Will throw some asparagus on after these are done. Some decent beer to drink while waiting.
