Before he left us (what, 25 years ago now??) Miles recorded a soundtrack for a movie that was never released. Just recently someone discovered the tapes, or the digital files, and the soundtrack was published within the last year.
I bought it months ago, finally listening to it now the last couple days. Just from the synth patches and chord selections I can hear about when this came out in Miles' career; but I can't see how this was a soundtrack to a movie! There was a tune or two that were hip-hop based, at least one R-n-B track, but the rest of the album was just High-Up Fusion! I LOVE this album, but can't imagine how it could work as a movie soundtrack (perhaps that's why the movie was never released? I'd love to see it).
Sooo good to hear a complete work, from one of my heros, a quarter-century after we lost him.
