Every mexican cookbook out there has a recipe for refried beans.
Yet, there are NO recipes for fried beans.

Put some chuck short ribs on the XL this morning.

Took them off when they were happy.
Made some wings on the Hasty Bake.
Made seven pizzas in the Blackstone pizza oven, only got a pic of one of them.
None of the guests left hungry.
These two supervised.

Get a real Mexican/Latin American cookbook in Spanish and you won't even find a recipe for "refried beans". You will find recipes for "frijoles refritos" which, properly translated, means “well-fried beans" NOT refried beans. We can probably place the blame for this on our 7th grade Spanish teachers.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. 8 hours in and the bark is setting up nicely. First time using Meat Church Holy Cow on a brisket.

Reminds me of the line in "Fletch" in which Dana Wheeler answered the door in her towel and Chevy Chase said, "Can I borrow your towel? My car has just hit a water buffalo."gonepostal said:“Recovering” from a well timed delivery to a house that had a lady letting out the dog as I was just making my way to the front door. The towel that she was wearing covered up most. She didn’t flinch. The best I could come up with was “how old is the dog!” Happy Friday! -

Made some pizzas on the egg last night (margherita, pepperoni and bbq chicken).

Managed to get the skin this pork joint to crackle properly today, nice meat too. Threw a chicken on as well while the XL was running.

Well, it was 11 lbs of a straight-forward cook and the hold had to be cut short due to an audible.
And due to the shorter hold (and likely my need to sharpen the knife) the point was trying to crumble. Flat passed the pull test and the flavour was great.
Had to deliver a good amount to the neighbors who were pounding it down as I departed. Thanks for lookin".Happy Birthday , USN!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.
