They make a special nailer just for the hangers. I believe it’s called a positive placement nailer. It has a guided tip that ensures the nails are shot into the holes in hangers or hurricane straps and also shoots the larger gauge nailers specified for the “Simpson” hangers. Have used a couple made by Paseload in the past. Been a while.

That's what the one I showed does. The nail protrudes out of the tip so placement is accurate. I had a palm nailer for joist hangers, what a piece of crap.

I just use the Simpson screws.

Got rid of my Ford Expedition monster and bought a Ford Ranger. Gas mileage difference will be nice. I have a super duty diesel but only use it for farming work.

Been on a dewalt spree lately. Already have the Flexvolt worm drive saw so I figured why not. Also needed a scope.

We call them strap shot nailers at work. A lot of money for one if your not going to be using it much. $350 I believe. Just dont shoot yourself with it. They shoot hard.

Nice Vortex Viper... looks like the PST? I just sold my .338 Lapua, and ended up selling the US Optics on Snipers Hide. That was an unbelievable scope! I recognize your reloading equipment (owned 2 RCBS Charge masters), and you have good taste!

Yes it’s the pst couldn’t justify the razor since I don’t shoot much any more. Nobody carriers red stuff here but I love dewalts Flexvolt line and use my saw everyday framing.

I used a bostich palm nailer for the hanger nails, used my estwing hammer for a couple nails into each joist.
I like the palm nailer, 2 seconds for each nail. Works well. I run it at tank pressure, 135 psi

The battery that comes with a GM vehicle or is replaced under warranty is covered by the limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles (48 months/4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, for Cadillac and Buick) and should be taken back to the GM dealership.Feb 11, 2015
