    About 600 of them almost made it over that direction.  In 1921, US Customs raided a ship bound for Dublin and seized them (a young J. Edgar Hoover was in charge of the investigation.)  I don't remember the whole story, but an Auto-Ordnance executive (using an alias) had sold them to the IRA for $225 a piece.  In the 30's when Hoover became director of the FBI, those 600 guns eventually went to the "G-men".  A few actually made their way to Ireland via Chicago mobsters and the Irish football team.  Crazy stuff.

    If you ever get to Las Vegas, the Mob Museum in the old post office downtown has actual brick wall from the St. Valentine's day massacre in Chicago in 1929.

    I only have three 1911's right now... One needs a new barrel (WWII surplus converted into an IPSC race gun by my father), my FrankenPara and the DE1911C. I have standard capacity mags for the FrankenPara (16 round with the +2 pads added) plus some 10 rounders for the two other 1911's. Need to finish off my AR10 rifle build and get rolling on the AR10 pistol build (trying to decide if I'll go with the 10.5" or 12.5" barrel). :) Also waiting for the smith to get back to me for when he can machine the slide on the FrankenPara and install the TruGlo Novak LoMount sights on it (tritium/fiber).
    Large BGE with CGS Woo Ring, stone with stainless pan, Smokeware chimney cap, Kick Ash basket and Kick Ash can.

    1911's are something I know nothing about.  I had a Kimber Ultra Carry II CT for a short while.....nice gun, incredible machining, just wasn't for me.

    I'd really like to get a WWI or WWII-era Colt that's correct for collecting purposes.  I was excited when the CMP got all the 1911's because I thought I could get a few mix-matches ones, but then they went nuts on the price and transfer process.  So, I've got a lot of learning to do.....might be better to just get one from a Rock Island auction so I know what I'm getting is legit.  How about that Singer one that sold a few years ago for $400K-something???  haha

    I think you people are making lite of a serious situation at the border.  I am glad Trump is our President an that he is doing something about the caravans an all of the womens getting duck taped up jus like in that Sicario movie.  Finally we have a President with the ballsack to do what needs to be done.  Also Saturday nite live should have its name changed to Sunday Morning Dead cuz it sucks so bad.
