I have my grandfather's straight razor, bowl, and brush. I only use 2 out 3 though.
Question if I may, your grandfathers bowl wouldn’t happen to be one of the Old Spice mugs or scuttles by chance?
They are pretty collectible now depending on their date.

  • On the bottom it says Old Spice Shulton
  • That is odd, the image is not simply upside down, but also flipped left to right. It says Ship Grand Turk Salem-1786.

I’m impressed that we’re three pages deep on a thread with “no message”.  That takes real talent Ron!

I just think it's great that you got two bowls - so you can separate your face cream from your pubes cream.

Old Spice Original scent aftershave, cologne, shave cream, and shave soap was originally manufactured by Shulton. That was the good stuff that we all loved.
However Proctor and Gamble bought them out in the 90’s. Hence the “Classic” scent that’s now available instead of the Original. Nowhere near as good as the old Shulton brew. Also P&G dropped the nostalgic porcelain bottles in favor of plastic. How sad indeed. Another icon that bit the dust.
On a separate note, I love the mug. I had a hunch when you said that it was your grandfathers that is was probably from Old Spice. At one time everyone had at least one Old Spice mug. Sadly P&G stopped producing those too. Again, I love the mug. I really liked anything that had “Shulton” on it.

I have an older model Husqvarna like that and it's a beast!!  You're gonna love it.  Mines 12yrs old and runs like new!

The older Husqvarna equipment is second to none. It’s a shame that they are all forced to be more environmentally friendly now. I have some saws that was made in the 70’s and 80’s, they simply blow the doors off the newer stuff. It’s not even close.

Im really liking this lather bowl ole buddy.

    One drop of TOOBS.

One drop squeezed into the silver tip B.B.

First pass with no water to break bubbles and separate the soap.

    8 drops of water added.

One drop produced enough lather for a 4-5 pass shave. The ridges in the bottom of the bowl make all the difference in the world.

Excellent holding power. That’s after sitting for over 2 hours in the bowl.

I have been drinking pretty heavily all day so I may post a video here of me shaving in the nude later tonight. It’s truly an incredible sight.

That left enough lather for some extensive manscaping brother Scottie

I would hate for this to not come to fruition and have @SGH be known as a “tease” from here forward.

Probably "incredible" is a matter of perspective....
