What are your plans for this? Full Restore, just get in working order, or you gonna make a smoker out of it?

Put pencils (or chopsticks) along both sides of the potato when you’re cutting. Keeps you from slicing all the way through.
Interesting. Most potatoes don’t have a flat bottom so I would think that wouldn’t work very well.
It's a common technique. The pencils/chopsticks/wooden spoons/whatevs tend to also keep it from rolling around.

Reverse sear rib eye and sirloin. The rib eye is well done, apologies to all but Anne gets her steak how she wants it. Fried red onions on the plate, grilled courgette and chips fried in goose fat.

I was hoping it was in better shape, I’ll probably get it running and parking lot drivable, and sell it....or sell it as is. I’ve already been offered twice what I paid for it!

@DoubleEgger that crosscut tater really looks tasty, you could smother that with a lot of stuff.

Perfect slices tho. Potatoes are best in a gratin with cheese IMO. Or roasted in some type  of bird fat.
