Dinner with a vintner tonight. Sausages, Tri tip, asparagus, strawberry rhubarb cobbler, and a shid loaf of his finest reserve. Lodi is on the map, folks. They are making spectacular wines here.
Beautiful farm here, helped them de leaf and spread sulphur to prevent fungus. Learned a lot.

Just listened to the latest from the utility company. Estimated time to restore power 7 PM Friday June 1st. On my way to get more gas.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Firepad/Phase 1 complete after 3 days of digging, base, sand, firebrick.
My helper wanted chili dogs so I thawed out some Nathan's, fired up the kettle, 250 with K and cherry scraps from the last wood run, and ran to the store for buns and chips.
Kicked mine up with diced jalapeno and Spicy Jalapeno Fritos.

Now the latest prediction is around 11 PM tonight for the power to be back. I will see how that plays out. Historically they have been fairly accurate as you get close to their time estimate but I have seen 'em miss by 4-5 hours. Such fun...Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.
