Is it bad that this description makes it sound like a place that my son (the other person in my family who likes camping and just being outdoors) and I would really enjoy visiting?GATraveller said:

Southern Utah provides some of the most beautiful landscapes around, you just have to look past some of the "weirdness"Las Vegas, NV -
I get that. My point was that my son and I would probably find the weirdness of the place somewhat intriguing and would make the trip even more enjoyable - even if only because of the nervous humor/sarcastic comments we would share with each other as a coping mechanism when we feel most uncomfortable. We like seeing different folks and while in the moment our comments (kept between us) are sometimes not politically correct, when we reflect back on the events later we actually have learned something by being exposed to the weirdness - typically in a way that is appreciative and understanding of their culture.Battleborn said:Foghorn said:

If you have ever flown in and or out of St George....what an airport. It sits a top of a platou....and there is a huge drop off at the end of the runway. Beautiful country out there.Battleborn said:Foghorn said:

We do too! Up until we got married, my wife, east Texan through and through, thought all Mormons lived the fundamentalist way. She always makes sarcastic remarks about me finding a sister wife when we are in Utah.Foghorn said:

All you folks complaining about snow, at least you don't have to clean your pools after 3 days of crazy wind.

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

That pool is pristine compared to mine. You can almost walk on the leaves floating in my pool some days when I get home.
