Easy to see when Irma broke the anemometer in Barbuda:

Pretty impressive pressure drop. That happened fast enough that your ears might have popped.

Potentially good news for some folks

Scary that people like that are walking among us.

That people equate the victims of (potential in this case) natural disasters to race, sin, religion or anything that isn't geographical or meteorological (aka "natural") drives me nuts.Toxarch said:

The inference here is that Trump controls mother nature, like god. Magic is not real. Wake up, peeplez!

Irma claimed what may have been her first victim. 16yr old junior pro surfer Zander Venezia was killed riding "the biggest wave of his life" off Barbados. RIP.

I have 3 large eggs on the first floor, only a couple of feet up from the bay. 2 in nests and 1 in a table. Any suggestions on what I should attempt to do with them?
I am taking a small and mini with me when I evacuate.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Don't think you have to worry that they will float away.Florida Grillin Girl said:I have 3 large eggs on the first floor, only a couple of feet up from the bay. 2 in nests and 1 in a table. Any suggestions on what I should attempt to do with them?

Secure them as best you can from falling over, not much else you can do.
I stay in a camper in Palm Beach while at work, they asked if I was taking the camper home to Ocala for the storm. HA HA. If I take it home I won't have the fuel to get back to work. On the other side of the coin, it could be destroyed no mater where it's at in Florida. I'll be shacked up in a hotel either way. -
This is one bad storm. Strongest on record in the Atlantic basin.

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -
PSA - this storm is coming for me and many others. Can we please keep the politics out so the thread doesn't get buffaloed? Thanks. Two Large Eggs, 6 gal Cajun Fryer, and a MiniMax in Charlotte, NC - My New Table

The latest spaghetti model.

I would say that the Florida east coast needs to evacuate just in case and early. Remember the north bound interstate on the east side can turn into a parking lot on the last day. -

@fishlessman - Not happening. Kitchen is on the 2nd floor, and that floor will likely flood with 15-20 storm surge.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Take pictures so that you can file them with insurance, Eggs can be replaced. You could take some of the more portable accessories with you though. In fact a quick video of your house's contents wouldn't be amiss. Throw the most important pictures, diplomas and such in photo albums and take your computer or at least it's hard drive with you. Take any prescription drugs, pets, pet kennels, and pet food. I repeat, evacuate early and maybe up the Gulf Coast side to avoid the most traffic.Florida Grillin Girl said:@fishlessman - Not happening.
