We saw the Michael Jackson show, and even if you are not a big fan of Mike, the show was awesome. It blew the other two Cirque shows we saw when we were there out of the water. Just my opinion....
That sucks. I have eaten there 3 times and it was incredible every single time. They serve Snake River Farms Steak so I'm trying to figure out how they screwed that up.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -
Has anyone been to the reincarnation of The Beatles Love show at Mirage? We saw it a few years back and that it was fantastic and it sounds like they've changed the show, though not sure how much. Was also considering the Michael Jackson circque show, because I think my wife would love it (and I might be able to tolerate it).Stillwater, MN

Some years back when planning a trip a few people told me to make sure to see Danny Ganz. So we are in line to get in to the theater and talking with other people, and many of them had seen him multiple times. Muy multiple. 5, 6, one guy 8 times. I am standing there thinking these people are nuts. After the show I realized what they were talking about. That was the best show I have ever seen. Not just Vegas show, best period. Better than any concert, play, sporting event, circus, whatever. Had planned to see him on the next trip, but he died about a year after I saw him.
When buying tickets, know if the venue is connected to the hotel where you will be staying. While ordering tickets to a show at the Mirage, the only tickets they had for the night we wanted was in row R. The guy on the phone asked me what hotel we would be staying at, when told the Bellagio he asked if I would like tickets in the second row. I did not ask why, I simply said yes. He explained that guests at any MGM property gets priority. MGM owns about ten casino/hotels in Vegas. Harrahs own about five in Vegas. I am not sure if show tickets work the same with them however. -
We saw " Love" about a year ago and it was great. Wife and I are both Beatle fans so that might have influenced it. FYI I bought tickets off CL in Vegas for the night of the show at 1/2 price. Meet the guy at the theater and wife went in with one ticket before I paidArlington, TX 1 large, 1 medium, 1 Mini Max, and a 22" Blackstone

Not what you asked but Mack King is more than worth it for an afternoon show and Piff the Magic Dragon is great. We ate at Paris as well and it was really good and affordable.

And, we ate at Cut and it was fabulous. -

The only really good thing we had there was the little digestif desserts that gave us with the bill. I was not impressed by anything else we had.
Wait, I take that back. The bread they gave was really good too. Just remembered that.

I know you are asking about finer restaurants, but for a quick bite it is hard to beat Nathan's for a hot dog. They have them all over the strip.

Just got back from vegas a few hours ago. We saw mystere which was really good. We didn't eat at any high end restaurants but ate at several moderately priced ones that were very good. I wanted to check out Cut but no one else in our group wanted to spend that much money on dinner. Virgils BBQ, Holsteins at cosmo, Hexx across from Bellagio. All those were very good and I would definitely go again. Also, like many others said, check out the Buffet at the Bellagio. Ate there last night and it was excellent. Enjoy your tripMarysville, OH

We had reservations, so getting a seat was not a problem.
We got a salad, which was good, fresh and crisp, but nothing really special for the price. We ordered a glass of wine each. The wine arrived and we snacked on the bread and breadsticks as they were really good. The waiter asked if the wine was okay since we were not drinking it till the steaks arrived.
We waited a long, long time for the steaks to come. I order mine to be a warm rare all the time. When it came, it was like it comes off most gas grills by people not into cooking. Dry and overdone/gray on the top and bottom third, and the middle 1/3 was fine. But it was not served warm enough. Kinda like it was cooked 15 min earlier, cooled, then they put under a heat lamp.
My wife orders hers medium-well (I know...I know...). Hers was the same as mine - warm, but not hot. It was drier than mine. She had to drink some wine with nearly every bite. We did get the mac and cheese side which was fantastic. There was another side as well, but we can not remember what it was.
We did not get a dessert.
Overall, it was not a great meal, or experience, for the price. Maybe it was an off night, maybe they were mad I did not pay $150 for a bottle that is $25 around the corner, or did not get an appitizer and dessert with our meal. Whatever the case, we would not go back.
That was our experience.....--------------------------------------------------

Does the Bunny Ranch still serve a buffet? I've heard they have a pretty good box lunch if you can get there when it's fresh.

Man, I just got back from a weekend in Vegas and wish this thread was posted a week earlier! Great tips in here.
I'll pass you one tip, though, that you and the wife may enjoy before dinner. Take a cheap lyft/uber ride over to Stratosphere and head up to the Level 107 lounge... gets you up to the top for free, and if you go between 4&7 every day, it's happy hour. 2 for one drinks, half price apps. Enjoy a great view with your cocktails, then take the elevator up to 109 and enjoy the observation deck. I think a martini goes for $16, so at happy hour... that's $8 each which is pretty damn good in Vegas. And it was Grey Goose.

They changed the show recently. IMO, its not anywhere near as good as, say, it was 10 years ago. Much more of a dance show vs a cirque show in the sense that there are much less blow your mind type acrobatics that the show used to feature. We go the Mirage about 4 times a year and have seen the show 4-5 times over the years. Still has pretty much the same great soundtrack, but this latest change to the show was a bit disappointing. They wanted to make it safer for the cast from what I heard. Back on topic, we like Javier's and the Todd English Pub, both in Aria. You can easily get out of both those places for less than $200 for two. Never had a bad meal at either place. Javier's has a dish called the Cabo Azul that features a shrimp taco, lobster enchilada, and dungenesse crab stuffed chile relleno. It's about $35-40 and is out of this world. Todd's has too many choices to mention, but their lobster rolls are great.Large BGE and MiniMax in St. Petersburg, FL -
Another off strip recommendation, just a short Uber drive away, is Lindo Michoacan on Desert Inn Rd. We go there every time we're in Vegas.
