    Here is what I'm thinking now. With the flush mounted jet burners on the front I would have the room to strap my carlisle and a couple coolers for the trip.  This is not to scale and I know I'm not an artist.

    My wife just rolls her eyes at me.  She knew I was like this when she said "I do".  In her wedding vows she even mentioned my Go big or Go home attitude!

    Wow, congratulations brother grim!  That sounds like it will be a really fantastic machine.  I can see why you're so excited.  As someone who has no need/space for such a machine, but an appreciation for good BBQ, I'm stoked to see this post.  Please update as the project continues!

    Under the 3 burner stove and along the rest of that side of the smoker is a wood basket Should hold way more wood than I need. Especially with the insulated firebox.

    Tyler has an idea to give me a counter and the wood storage on the back side of the smoker. I'll find out what he's thinking Sunday.

    My first few drawings had no where to put propane or water. It's easy to miss stuff like that.

    Over the top of each jet burner (they are flush with the flooring) headed back to the fryer/sink is big enough to hold a 65 each with room for my carlisle insulated food carrier in between.

    I will go ahead and mention it to them just in case, but right now it doesn't have a dual axle. I'm counting on the Shirley's fabricating experience here.  I think it'll all weigh in around 3500lbs (They did a similar one that clocked in around 3k, but mine has more options)  If they decide I need one I'll definitely do it.

    I'd definitely go double axle.  It'll give you a little insurance if you blow a tire in the hot as hell area where you live.

    I really don't want a double axle. Moving it by hand with a cart will be hard enough, with a double axle it'll be impossible to do by hand when I get to a comp.

    I've done a little trailer pullin' , and I'd second  @DoubleEgger s suggestion of a dual axle.

    The Shirleys are pros, and will no doubt install the correctly rated single axle on for you, but I'd still consider dual.  Besides capacity, they pull smoother, are not as twitchy backing up, the're safer in the event of a flat / blowout, and are far more forgiving in terms of load distribution.

    Single or double, I'm really anxious to see this new beast of yours.  I don't know how you sleep at night.


    Edit - just saw that you want to move this by hand.  That's a good reason consider single axle.  Are you sure you could move this by hand?  One of my trailers is single, with about 3500 on it and it's pretty tough to move with a trailer dolly on flat concrete.

    You could easily do 3500 lbs on a single axle. I like double axle because the suspension lets them ride smoother. If there's a flat, chain one axle up to drive farther before changing the tire.
