Does that mean we can reduce the mass shootings more by getting rid of Obama than by passing more gun laws?

@Jeepster47 I think Obama has an alibi for most of those, probably most of the presidents do...although they could be guilty by proxy...

The AP is reporting that the Pakistani woman shooter had pledged her allegiance to ISIS according online documents that were just released.
I also saw a picture of the AR's used......not California compliant. And they had 30 round magazines. Both have been illegal in CA for nearly 30 yrs yet this still happen. ISIS doesn't care about the law either.
This is well beyond worrying about the NRA, gun laws, etc. Lot bigger & scarier issues here folks.

Got her visa, through marriage of a US citizen. Carried out her mission. I wonder how much scrutiny, the visas issued through marriage, will come under in the next few weeks?
Pretty clever plan. Think there is more than one?

Adding to that, how many did they make, and if that stockpile represents all that they had made. Just an observation.

The one that scares me the most is the DC sniper scenario again. Those guys killed 10 people over three weeks, and had killed another 10 or so in the 6 months before that. That's not counting the ones they just wounded either.
I would like to think in one of these mass shootings you at least have a chance to run, hide, fight back, etc after the first shots rings out. But in a sniper situation where it's completely random, all you can hope is that you're not the target.
If the Malvo brothers could shut down the east coast for a week, imagine a dozen of those two-man teams in different major cities could do. God help us because they'll shut this economy down. The only defense will be to shelter at home because those guys did not have any pattern.
You can pass all the gun laws in the world and it's not going to stop anything like that. Because if they're trained, they can do just as much damage with a 50+ yr old bolt action gun.
Right now, in all of these mass shooting, the shooters are caught or dead within hours......it took a six months to catch those guys after the first hit on the west coast, and three weeks into the "beltway" spree.
I'm telling you, this would be horrific and a equivalent to a national disaster, complete with marshall law, if as few as a couple dozen were trained and coordinated.

Change the value of mass, to 20 or more, and the number will drop significantly. Simple political mathematics. If the number were 2 or three, all numbers would have escalated tremendously. Moving the definition to a higher number, reduces the number of mass shootings. Then everyone looks good then.

As an experienced internet troll, which is analogous to a terrorist, but on a cooking forum in this case, I can tell you the desired reaction, that is an over-reaction of emotion and fear, is considered a win. For example, if you react to my trolling, I "lol" heartily. That is a pure tiger-blood win.
So when you react to terrorists...well, over-react with fear and reducing our own level of freedom to stop something that's statistically irrelevant...that's a win for them. You are helping them win. By proxy you are part of the terrorist's plan. So stop it. OK?

Unfortunately WalMart stopped selling them due to a lack of demand. With the politicians harumph'ing again, and an election looming, a panic buy is on the horizon if not already started. BTW, unless you know what you're doing, have the tools, and have access to the parts at dealer cost, you're better off just buying one off the rack. While it's all Mil-Spec, the parts don't always work together.....and they're so expensive individually, it's actually less to have a factory gun. I've built quite a few myself out of extra parts I had from upgrading other guns. Doesn't hurt a couple of the $35 Anderson stripped lowers in the safe for the future though. Those and 30-rnd PMags things are like gold coins at times.Focker said:

I found the mosin nagant one of the most unpleasant rifles to fire. At least the one I was using...the stock was in-line with the barrel and rather than the recoil deflecting the barrel up it beat the crap outta my shoulder.

lol, yeah you gotta man up nola, it's a boomstick. Bought a rubber buttstock attachment custom made for it, helps the shoulder. At 6' with bayonet attached, I and all my buddies, enjoy shooting it. Would love to get my hands on a Finnish one, pretty hard to come by though.nolaegghead said:I found the mosin nagant one of the most unpleasant rifles to fire. Man with you being in the Quad Cities, I would get a locally made one. I know Rock River, LMT, and Armalite are nearby.......Les Baer and another one too, right?? That way if you ever had any issues, you don't have to worry about shipping it or taking it to a gunsmith--drop it off at the factory and have it frixed for free. It's not easy fiding gunsmiths anymore, much less those that will work on non-factory guns or ones they didn't build themselves--too much libiability. We have ONE guy here in STL......and he's had my SAIGA-12 for 6 months now.Focker said:

Nothing against Colt, but there are a lot cheaper options out there for the same quality. Much like Smith & Wesson, they have all their government contracts and that's why their so expensive for the public. Colts are what I was referring to when things may be mil-spec, but not fit. But if I could have found one or more at WalMart when they were marked down to $700 or less I would have bought them in a heart beat. Even under $1000, those were good guns for the money. Still, they just declared bankruptcy.

Just being a cheap azz, trying to save a buck or two is my only rationale. Met the RRA owner, nice dude too. A great point, it is convenient having them within a 15 min drive. If I plan on buying one, might as well do it right.
Drove my XDs out to Springer for the recall, picked it up in two weeks. They handled it very well IMO, nice folks all around.
I didn't know Colt declared bankruptcy. WOW
Thanks for the heads up. Will definitely keep ALL of this in mind.

Colt got disconnected from a government teat (contract for the M4) and has an assload of debt. So they did what any self-respecting business would do, file chapter 11.
