My egging buddy just redid his patio and bought this to cook on. I'm torn on what to do.

Good times ragging him last night. He just likes the convenience of grilling a steak in 5 minutes.Franklin, Tn

The convenience of 5 minute steak is offset by how bad it tastes compared to the egg.
Tell him to get Longhorn takeout if he needs convenience.Largo, FL

He may need profesional counseling?

Don't give him such a hard time, lots of grills lots of options. I like charcoal cooked steaks, but I also like them in the sous vide and seared on a CI pan or over the infrared on the gasser. Would never be without the gasser - not because it can be faster, but for some jobs it is just better. Love my egg, but there are times the cook can be done better on another grill.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

I'm sort of with Skiddymarker. I have a gas burner/camping stove that often gets fired up alongside the egg. It lets me saute some mushrooms, par boil vegetables, etc...while the main dish is on the egg. Great for sauces, too.
The alternative is to keep running back and forth between the kitchen and the deck, hoping that while I'm in one place, I'm not having "an exciting cooking moment" in the other.
