I think the best way to prevent that is to be a good neighbor, by that I mean open with neighbors so they can tell you when they see suspicious stuff. My neighborhood uses next door neighbor app to help facilitate a bigger group communication.

If all else fails hopefully my dogs deter anyone from coming in my yard. I should just get a lock for my gate.

My neighbors do a pretty good job of policing the street.  Several are retired and/or work from home so there is always someone around.  Definitely helps.  Also.....we show criminals love and leave them alone so that pretty much solves it.

I hear you can leave your wallet on the sidewalk in the Middle East and come back a month later and it'll be right there untouched.
I think you need to check your hearing or your source.  Crime in the middle east is rampant.  The best deterrent to crime is to have a happy society that thrives.

That's what my buddy who lived in UAE told me and he's a pretty stand up guy.
Good model.  An autocracy that was one of three countries that recognized the Taliban as Afghanistan's ruling government and ranks poorly in civil liberties.  We should be more like them.  I can then park my wallet anywhere.

    That sucks.

When I got mine, the first question my Dad asked me was "how are you going to secure it?"  I figured a Large weighs enough that it wouldn't be easy to steal, but I hadn't considered four guys making off with it.

Great, now I need a security camera.

I can take apart my XL and have it out of the table and in the SUV in probably under 5 minutes if I needed to. One bolt loosened and carry the dome, then another trip for the insides and a final trip for the base.

I guess I just need to keep it lit round the clock!

Tell your buddy to check Craigslist.

just a thought, if you registered your egg maybe you could let BGE know that it was stolen, maybe, just maybe the thieves will try to make a claim, hopefully sooner than later and they could be caught that way?  I don't know, just thinking out loud

  • I hate thieves too.  We should waterboard them all for a few months, then execute them slowly and painfully, then pee on their remains, then jail all their family for life, starve them in jail and execute them if they steal vermin for food.  Plus, no minor policy stuff.  Treat kids just like adults.  They should know better.
The cutting the hands off thing seemed sufficient.
can we at least pee on their arm stump? I like the pee part. Very humiliating.

When one of us has an egg stolen, we all feel the pain

@SGH - Dad had no time for theives, years ago there was an insurance ad running about locking your car and taking the keys with the caption "Don't help a good boy go bad", in other words do not provide an opportunity for someone to steal your car. Dad always said if he was a good boy he would not be thinking about stealing your car in the first place!

Sorry to hear this, really crap that i'm also afraid off, two people can easily carry it out of the garden. Main reason why i mostly store it inside, but it sucks to move it all the time.

I leave all my eggs outside.  We have a 6 foot iron fence with a locked gate...someone would have to defeat the lock or hoist it over the fence.  I'd see it all on the surveillance video.

I like how your dad thought. And I agree with him 100 percent. To me, someone that steals is just no good and I have no use or mercy for them. I have worked most of my life away to provide for my family and to buy things that I want. For someone to just sneak up and take them because they are to sorry to work is just unforgivable in my book. Even at my age I still put 12-16 hours a day 7 days a week most of the year. I have spent more time working overseas, in the North Sea and at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico than I have with my family. I have more than earned the little that I have. So I have a personal vendetta against thieves and sorry people in general. If I was in control of making the laws of the land, I would give the death penalty to thieves. Someone who will walk up in clear conscious and take another persons belongings has no place in society in my opinion. The world would be better off without them. Stealing is the reason that I hate the democrats so bad. They want to take money from honest hard working people like me and give it to the dredges of society that refuse to work. They call it welfare and public assistance. I call it by its real name. Legal robbery. Sorry to get off on a rant my friend. But there is two things in life that really gets my goat. Thieves is one of them. You can probably guess the second one.

Right is right and wrong is wrong. Any decent person should know the difference and like all decisions they must choose which path to take, even when no one is watching. If someone doesn't know the difference, they are either without capacity(deserving of pity) or indecent (deserving of nothing). Society has excused many types of theft for decades now. Taking advantage of obvious pricing errors at stores and just generally taking advantage of people and situations for example. If you know it is wrong it's stealing. I call it the hurray for me and "F" you society. There are millions of decent people with very little who would never think of taking what is not theirs. It is call dignity.

Why didn't they just ask Obama for a Mini-Maxx?  They could have called and asked from their Obama cellphone from their air conditioned Obama home.

Pretty sad that anyone has to even worry about some POS stealing from them. SMH. Hopefully he can track it down (doubtful though). Makes me sick.
