I honestly don’t know much about that until the other day when you posted something about it, but from what I understand it’s not targeting individuals directly but rather those that discriminate against conservatives and push left leaning propaganda whoever they may be …. No idea why there is such a list nor do I agree or disagree with itJohnInCarolina said:

Take a look around at how so many politicians speak out, carry themselves these days. Compare the Obama administration or the Biden administration or any past administration from either side of the aisle to Trump and his maga ilk. Do you not see how that makes it more acceptable and how we've been on this downward slide when he has the megaphone?
It's amazing to me that people choose to make this the issue - how many shootings did we have just last week? But my god, someone said something bad about a divisive maga podcaster that got killed. Are you not even curious why so many people hated him and make the choice to say bad things about him now? Some people just want harmony on the surface, regardless of what is going on under the water, but that's not really truth, is it.
Reminds me of when Linda looked me deeply in the eyes one day and said “ the last thing I would ever want to do is hurt you “ my heart just melted, then I thought “ she must have a list and hurting me is on it”
all joking aside , I Fvcking hate all of this , we all all humans and it’s not that hard to treat each other with compassion and respect, I’ll never be you, you’ll never be me, we are all unique just like everyone elseVisalia, Ca @lkapigian -
It lists faculty names, provides their photos, etc. The list is what launched Kirk onto the national stage.lkapigian said:

Most of these faculty have received death threats solely by virtue of being on that list. We’ve had to arrange private security for some of them. None of that ever seemed to bother Kirk.
If that’s not targeting… what does targeting look like to you?
As for not agreeing or disagreeing with it… sheesh. Take some time to learn about it, take a stand man."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Open dialogue is a joke today.
Trump and his ilk can say and do whatever they want and the Supreme Court (ironically capitalized because they are terrible) rubber stamp whatever he wants.
If you disagree or make a joke about him he sues you for $15 Billion dollars after sicking the courts and his brownshirts on you.
when are people going to wake up and realize he is out for all your rights. This won’t be fixed soon and the damage may be too great.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I don't understand this. How can four minority professors "discriminate against conservatives"?lkapigian said:

The mission of Professor Watchlist is to expose and document college professors who discriminate against conservative students and advance leftist propaganda in the classroom.

Gotcha, but would like to see some examples of them actually doing that."First method of estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him."

I concurVisalia, Ca @lkapigian -
Always remarkable just how many people seem to think they know what goes down inside a college classroom despite not having stepped inside one anytime this century.
95 percent of the time, it doesn’t have anything to do with politics. Trump doesn’t come up in classes on differential equations or organic chemistry or even macro-economics, I promise you. Nobody is being brainwashed or discriminated against, despite what you might have been told.
Yes, you can find examples online where it sure seems like the instructor is a raging commie who does nothing other than sing the praises of Karl Marx or whatnot. The lie is that this is ubiquitous, rather than being an exception.
Lastly, most of these kids are perfectly capable of thinking for themselves. That’s part of how they got in here in the first place.

My favorite professors were ones who taught and challenged my views - if my views are so weak I can’t deal with a professor for 45 minutes challenging my position then I don’t deserve to say I have a position.

Politics never comes up in my classes, but they do in some of my colleagues. To a person, as instructors they will argue whatever position is on the other side from the majority of the class. The reason is simple: it’s the only way the students develop critical thinking skills. You don’t learn how to argue a position when everyone agrees with you.Ozzie_Isaac said:My favorite professors were ones who taught and challenged my views - if my views are so weak I can’t deal with a professor for 45 minutes challenging my position then I don’t deserve to say I have a position.

lol, critical thinking skills and arguing positions … good in a classroom, divisive in a public place , I mean isn’t that exactly what Kirk was doing ?Visalia, Ca @lkapigian

Call it what you want, but the statement remains true. The general public believes 99.9% of what is spewed at them in the news. Pick your news source, you can find a contradicting narrative on their opposition site/source.JohnInCarolina said:

There are lies everywhere, and few people can be trusted, especially the news.
-
It is not. Kirk’s goal was sound bites and exchanges he could selectively edit into clips he’d use to raise money. He was trying to mostly make a big show of how “stupid” young college students with liberal views were. If you can’t see the difference, well…lkapigian said:lol, critical thinking skills and arguing positions … good in a classroom, divisive in a public place , I mean isn’t that exactly what Kirk was doing ?
Kirk wasn’t interested in actually getting people to think, as his watch list and other actions make readily apparent. His pursuit was simply the straight line from hate->money. That his pursuit was cloaked in a flag and carrying a cross doesn’t change that fundamental truth."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Excerpts from the article I posted, above. Suffice it to say, these are not the words and actions of a man with altruistic goals:

Of course people tend to rely on their priors, no argument there, but there is a large difference between the amount of misinformation this administration is spewing compared to any other one in recent memory. Perhaps this current administration understands the current information dynamic in the US and is simply taking advantage of it, regardless of the consequences. That’s worth thinking about and discussing in terms of what it means for us as a country.ColbyLang said:

It’s funny but the goal of propaganda is not to get you to believe one side or another, but rather to get you to the point where you don’t trust ANY source of information. I fear propaganda has largely accomplished that goal in the US, and we are all worse off for it.

When one sees how much money Alex Jones has made, it’s not hard to understand why younger conservative influencers would want to follow a similar playbook.

Tribalism on display. It's tough to let some things go. Especially when your family, social circle and business circle are highly aligned. It's like adolescent peer pressure all over again.
This is a big contributor to some states being mostly red or blue. This is why most of us grew up voting like our parents did and why identity politics is effective, especially when fear is the messaging.
Organized religion is fertile ground for it. Religion is the OG of identity politics, telling you how your religion, your god is the only true god and others are out to get you. Televangelists were the model for the modern conservative messengers - the world is bad and you should be afraid but I alone can save you and I take checks, credit cards and crypto.
Kind of ironic how Alex Jones spent so much time emploring people to wake up and not be sheeple.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
I wonder why that is Tommy…
Tuberville said he did not see much to gain by trying find common ground with those on the opposite side of the political spectrum.
“To my Republican colleagues, if you’re going to go out and make friends with them, all you’re going to do is end up fighting on their side.
